These days, the entire Party, army, and people of Vietnam have just concluded 2023, a year filled with difficulties and challenges, but also achieved many proud accomplishments. At the same time, they are beginning 2024 with renewed faith and enthusiasm. This also marks the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024).

In his capacity as the head of our Party, with his superior intellect and vision, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wrote an article titled: "Proud and confident under the glorious banner of the Party, determined to build a Vietnam that is increasingly prosperous, civilized, cultured, and heroic." Immediately after its publication in the mass media, the article received widespread support and high praise from the entire Party, army, and people, as well as from international friends.

Party leadership – the primary factor determining all victories.

As someone with a solid education, always thoroughly understanding and mastering Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought, and having held various positions at both the central and local levels, especially with many years in charge of the Party's theoretical work, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has made a profound and comprehensive conclusion, affirming and correctly assessing the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam in his article commemorating the 94th anniversary of the Party's founding.

Before the founding of our Party, despite numerous paths to national salvation pursued by intellectuals, peasant uprisings, and bourgeois revolutions—despite tenacious and passionate struggles and immense sacrifices—these movements failed due to historical limitations, especially the lack of a correct revolutionary line. Since the founding of our Party, with its correct leadership, the Vietnamese revolution has achieved many successes, particularly in the struggle for power and national liberation.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong summarized: Looking back at the period from 1930 to 1975, we are immensely proud, confident, and deeply grateful to the glorious Party and the great President Ho Chi Minh for always wisely leading the Vietnamese revolution from one resounding victory to another, writing brilliant golden pages in the history of the civilized and heroic Vietnamese nation, admired and highly appreciated by the world: Successfully carrying out the earth-shattering August Revolution, seizing power for the people, freeing our country from the yoke of colonial and imperialist enslavement in 1945; the protracted resistance war against the French colonial invaders, culminating in the Geneva Agreement and the glorious victory of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, renowned throughout the world and shaking the globe; Simultaneously building socialism and resisting the destructive war waged by the US imperialists in the North, while fighting against the US to save the country, liberate the South, and unify the nation, culminating in the victory of the "Dien Bien Phu Air Campaign" and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's summary of the achievements of the revolutionary cause from the Party's founding to 1975 demonstrates sharp theoretical thinking and a comprehensive synthesis of the historically significant achievements of the Vietnamese nation in the 20th century. This comprehensive summary, achieved through theoretical research and practical experience, is also thanks to the General Secretary's experience as a historical witness, having seen many glorious moments in the nation's history in the 20th century and possessing sufficient time to summarize the results of the Vietnamese revolution under the Party's leadership. Because, after nearly 40 years of reform, we have achieved many historically significant achievements: socio-economic development; national defense and security have been maintained; Party building and rectification work has been strengthened; Vietnam's position and prestige are increasingly being enhanced on the international stage.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed: The reform process has truly brought about great and very positive changes to the country over the past nearly 40 years, contributing to making "our country have never before had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today." Generally, those who lived through and experienced the years before the reforms and the achievements of the nearly 40 years of reform will fully understand the conclusion of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. This further demonstrates the leadership role of the Party and the correct, creative, and practical reform policies of the Communist Party of Vietnam. It is all the more significant because, in the early years of the Doi Moi (Renovation) process, the collapse of the Eastern European socialist countries and the Soviet Union strongly impacted the Doi Moi process in Vietnam. However, our Party remained steadfast in steering the Vietnamese revolutionary ship through turbulent waters, reaching the shores of glory with rich and vibrant practical results, enabling our people to enjoy increasingly prosperous and happy lives!

Summarizing the 94 years of the birth, development, struggle, and growth of the Communist Party of Vietnam, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: The rich and vibrant reality of the Vietnamese revolution from the Party's founding to the present day has proven that the Party's correct and wise leadership is the leading factor determining all the revolution's victories, creating many miracles in Vietnam. On the other hand, through the process of leading the revolution, our Party has been tempered and has grown increasingly mature, worthy of its role and mission in leading the revolution and the trust and expectations of the people. This reality affirms a truth: In Vietnam, no other political force besides the Communist Party of Vietnam possesses the courage, wisdom, experience, prestige, and ability to lead the country through all difficulties and challenges, guiding the revolutionary cause of our nation from one victory to another.

This summary reflects the intellectual caliber of our Party's leader; it is a great source of encouragement for the entire Party, army, and people in the cause of renovation, industrialization, modernization, and international integration. We are proud to have the great President Ho Chi Minh, the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam, the heroic Party of the heroic Vietnamese nation. More than ever, maintaining unwavering faith in the Party is the only correct choice for all Vietnamese people, for the Vietnamese nation, and for the Vietnamese people. This is also the important message and direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in his article commemorating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Steadfastly advancing towards socialism

In the third part of the article, titled "Further promoting the glorious patriotic and revolutionary traditions, resolutely achieving the goals of national development by 2025 and 2030, building an increasingly prosperous, civilized, cultured, and heroic Vietnam," the General Secretary clearly outlined the international, regional, and domestic situation. Besides highlighting advantages, he also pointed out the difficulties and challenges that Vietnam must face; and emphasized: We must absolutely not be complacent, self-satisfied, or overly intoxicated with the results and achievements already attained, nor should we be overly pessimistic or wavering in the face of difficulties and challenges. On the contrary, we need to remain calm and wise, effectively build upon the results and lessons learned, overcome existing limitations and weaknesses, especially since the beginning of the 13th Party Congress term, in order to continue promoting innovation, striving, and seizing every opportunity and advantage. Overcoming all difficulties and challenges, we have successfully implemented the programs, plans, goals, and tasks set for the 13th Party Congress term and up to 2030. The General Secretary's reminder is extremely necessary, because we must never allow ourselves to "rest on our laurels." Although the achievements are enormous and comprehensive, many difficulties and challenges remain, especially the sabotage by hostile forces against the Communist Party of Vietnam.

After urging the entire Party, army, and people to continue to thoroughly understand and effectively apply the lessons learned from the mid-term Central Committee meeting of the 13th Party Congress on reforming leadership methods and working styles, the General Secretary requested that priority be given to effectively implementing key tasks related to economic development; cultural and social development; national defense, security, and foreign affairs; Party building and the political system; and finally, preparing for Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party. The General Secretary's orientations are both requirements and a great responsibility of the entire Party, army, and people before the nation's history. By successfully implementing these guidelines under the Party's leadership, we will certainly build a Vietnam that is increasingly prosperous, civilized, cultured, and heroic, following the socialist orientation.

In summary, amidst the joy and excitement of the entire nation welcoming the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024 and celebrating the 94th anniversary of our Party, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's article is a great source of encouragement and motivation for the entire Party, army, and people to continue overcoming difficulties, striving to achieve the goals and plans set for 2024, and aiming to successfully fulfill the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party.
