According to France 24, the Malian military government has revoked the license granted to the French national airline, Air France.
According to an official in Mali's military government, the reason is that the permit has not yet been submitted to higher authorities. The decision was made a day after Air France announced the resumption of flights to Mali from October 13, after suspending them since August 7 due to tensions in the Sahel region of Africa, as well as between France and Mali.
The suspension of Air France flights in Mali initially lasted only a few days, but after the airline extended the suspension citing the coup in Niger and the geopolitical situation in the Sahel region, the Malian authorities revoked Air France's license.
This move comes amid deteriorating relations between Mali and France since the military junta took control of the West African nation in 2020.
