The Trường Lâm village festival (Long Biên district) is famous for its snake-shedding dance ritual, which dates back to around the 15th century and is associated with the Trường Lâm communal house, a historical site dedicated to three guardian deities, including Linh Lang Đại Vương.
The people of Truong Lam village created the snake shedding dance, recreating the scene where the white snake, the embodiment of Linh Lang Dai Vuong, shed its skin three times to become a saint. Accordingly, unmarried young men are chosen to perform, each taking on a section of the snake and following the rhythm of drums and folk songs to express the shedding process.
