Sharing a common theme of "Nature," the teams from Da Nang and China skillfully chose to tell their stories through the art of light, illuminating the night sky of Da Nang.
Captivating the audience's emotions completely.
The Da Nang team opened with a story about the beauty of Vietnam's nature, from its rich heritage sites to a message about environmental protection and a green future. The fireworks display continuously shifted colors, interspersed with dazzling grand displays and emotionally charged moments of silence, leading the audience from admiration for the beauty of nature to reflection on their responsibility to preserve the green planet.
According to experts, the combination of innovative and increasingly refined techniques along with emotional elements has helped the Da Nang team create performances that have been considered rich in the team's identity for many years.
Meanwhile, the Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Fireworks Display Co., Ltd (China) continued to demonstrate the class of the reigning champion with their performance of "Flower of the Orient." Their strengths in staging techniques, the ability to synchronize fireworks with music , and high-quality smokeless firework effects combined to create a spectacular display.
Spectators were amazed to witness incredibly sophisticated fireworks effects resembling bamboo and rice stalks… The graceful, dense layers of fireworks, constantly changing in form and color, transformed the sky over the Han River into a mesmerizing Eastern painting.
In particular, the appearance of the song "Vietnam's Quintessence" in the performance created an unexpected highlight. The familiar sound of Vietnam resonated like a warm welcome from the competing team. The finale, with its "wolf howling" fireworks effect combined with hundreds of continuously exploding firecrackers, left the audience exclaiming, "It was more than spectacular!"
The performance received enthusiastic applause from the audience. The high-class performance by the Chinese representative showed that they remain a strong contender for a spot in the final.
“I’ve watched DIFF a few times and I’m really impressed with the changes in the Da Nang team this year. Their performance felt more engaging and the technique was much better. The Chinese team’s performance was incredibly emotional, befitting the level of the reigning champions,” shared Mr. Than Anh Viet, a tourist from Hue city.

Composer Nguyen Duc Trinh, President of the Vietnam Musicians Association and a member of the DIFF 2026 judging panel, believes that the two teams performing on the opening night were quite successful. Each team's music selection was excellent; the music, even individual notes, perfectly matched the lighting effects of the fireworks and closely adhered to the theme of the competition. This is likely a factor contributing to the increasing appeal of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival to both domestic and international audiences.

“The opening night was quite successful and full of surprises and new performances from the two competing teams. In the coming nights, I think the audience will witness other spectacular performances from the remaining teams, especially those participating in DIFF for the first time,” shared musician Nguyen Duc Trinh.
After 14 editions, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival has become a brand, contributing to promoting the image of Da Nang as a tourist destination. The spectacular performance on the opening night officially kicked off the 2026 fireworks festival season.
Andrew, a tourist from the United States, said this was his first time witnessing the fireworks festival in Da Nang and he was amazed by its grandeur. “It was an incredible spectacle, the fireworks illuminating the river, brilliant and poetic. It’s hard to express my feelings in words about this beauty. I will definitely return for next year’s festival and will recommend DIFF to my friends,” Andrew expressed.
