In the past period, the Provincial Fatherland Front has focused on disseminating and mobilizing support for the Party's guidelines and the State's policies; promoting the construction of new rural areas; and strengthening social supervision and criticism. In particular, the work of mobilizing support for the construction of solidarity houses and promoting the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project has yielded positive results. In 2024, the Fatherland Front Congress at all levels and the renewal of operational methods are identified as key tasks for the Provincial Fatherland Front.
Focus on monitoring and critical feedback.
During the past term, the Provincial Fatherland Front paid special attention to supervision and critical feedback. Therefore, the Provincial Fatherland Front leadership consistently directed efforts to improve this work, helping the Party and government develop optimal solutions when implementing policies, thereby protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people. In an interview with a reporter from Dai Doan Ket Newspaper, Mr. Bui Chi Thanh – Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province – stated that in 2023, the Fatherland Front at all levels focused on disseminating information and mobilizing the people to implement the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and participate in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Central and provincial authorities.
At the same time, the Front also focuses on social supervision and criticism, effectively fulfilling its role in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people. The activities of the Front at all levels have truly spread widely among the people, receiving attention and guidance from Party committees and authorities, creating social consensus.
Propaganda and mobilization efforts have been highly effective.
The Fatherland Front at all levels in the province also coordinated with member organizations to propagate and mobilize the people to promote their role as masters in building the Party and the Government, and to fight against corruption, waste, and negative phenomena. At the same time, they continued to effectively implement the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".
Thanks to these efforts, to date, all 47 communes in the province have met the standards for new rural areas, and 31 out of 47 communes have met the standards for advanced new rural areas. Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is one of the few localities in the country with 100% of its communes meeting the new rural area standards.
Particularly in 2023, the Fatherland Front at all levels and political and social organizations in the province mobilized resources to build 154 solidarity houses worth more than 11.9 billion VND.
In addition, to expedite the progress of key projects, the Provincial Front and political and social organizations have established five propaganda and mobilization teams to encourage people to support the handover of land for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project as well as other key projects.
"Over the past period, the Fatherland Front at all levels has coordinated the organization of hundreds of meetings with voters, monitored investment projects, and held dialogues with the people, contributing to building a clean and strong Party and government," Mr. Thanh shared.
Towards the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province
Entering 2024, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province still faces new challenges and requirements. Accordingly, the provincial Front has identified several key tasks to focus on, such as preparing well for the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and the 7th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, term 2024-2029.
This is a crucial task within the Front system, a broad and profound political activity. Therefore, the Front at all levels needs to proactively advise the Party committees and coordinate with the government to prepare well for the Congress at their respective levels. The preparation and organization of the Congress must ensure compliance with the directives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Provincial Party Committee.
“Through the Congress, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province needs to strongly innovate its methods of operation, improve the effectiveness of mass mobilization work and social supervision and criticism. This is the foundation for the provincial Fatherland Front to successfully fulfill its responsibilities in the new term, continuing to be a reliable support for the Party Committee and people of Ba Ria - Vung Tau,” Mr. Bui Chi Thanh shared his upcoming plans.
In the coming period, the Provincial Front will continue to strongly innovate its working methods, improve its mass mobilization work, strengthen dialogue with the people, and protect the legitimate rights of the people. At the same time, it will strengthen social supervision and criticism in all fields to improve the effectiveness of the Front's activities.
With the efforts and achievements made, the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in the past period have demonstrated dynamism, creativity, and increasing effectiveness. This is an important foundation for the Front to continue to play its core role in gathering and mobilizing the people in the future.
Sharing his views on the provincial Fatherland Front's operational direction for 2024, Mr. Bui Chi Thanh affirmed: "With its responsibilities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will continue to promote its core role in gathering and mobilizing the people, while innovating the content and methods of its activities, and improving the quality of social supervision and criticism."
The Front will also proactively advise and coordinate with the government to promptly resolve legitimate grievances and requests of the people; contributing to consolidating and promoting the strength of the great national unity, and promoting socio-economic development of the locality.”
Looking back on the past period, it can be affirmed that the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has achieved positive results. This serves as motivation for the provincial Fatherland Front to continue striving to excellently fulfill its assigned political tasks, worthy of the trust and expectations of the people.
