Accordingly, the Food Safety Department received information about a suspected food poisoning incident that occurred after people ate bread purchased from the "Co Ba" shop at the Ben Dinh intersection, Ward 7, Vung Tau City. To date, 135 people have been affected with symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dizziness, and have been hospitalized for treatment.

Given the situation, the Food Safety Department requests the Department of Health of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to urgently direct hospitals where patients are being treated to focus all resources on actively treating patients, ensuring their health and lives are not affected. If necessary, they can request professional consultation support from higher-level hospitals.

The Department of Health of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is investigating the suspected food poisoning incident in accordance with regulations, tracing the source of the suspected food poisoning, and collecting food and biological samples for testing to determine the cause.

The Food Safety Department has requested the Department of Health of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to temporarily suspend the operation of the facility suspected of causing the food poisoning, and to investigate the facility's compliance with food safety regulations. The unit will strictly handle any violations of food safety regulations (if any) and publicly disclose the results to promptly warn the community.

In addition, units are strengthening propaganda and guidance for collective kitchens, food service establishments, and street food vendors to ensure hygiene and food safety conditions. Establishments are strictly implementing the management of food ingredient origins, three-step food inspection, food sample retention, and hygiene in all processing stages.

In addition, units will disseminate and educate the public on food safety knowledge and measures to prevent food poisoning, aiming to raise awareness and change behaviors and habits in choosing and using food, and to discourage the use of food with unclear origins, labels, and sources.
