On June 3rd, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that Emirates International Airlines has officially launched a route connecting Dubai and Da Nang, with a layover in Bangkok, operating four flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The first flight, numbered EK370, landed at Da Nang airport at 7:50 PM on June 2nd, carrying 333 international passengers on a wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft.

The aircraft was welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute. Passengers were also presented with flowers and souvenirs and enjoyed a spectacular performance of traditional folk art.
Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang city, said that Emirates' opening of a flight route to Da Nang creates opportunities to connect the city with more than 140 destinations worldwide, especially potential markets such as the Middle East, Europe, North America and Africa.
This is an important driving force for tourism development, promoting trade, investment, and showcasing Da Nang's image to the world.
To prepare for the influx of tourists from the Middle East and emerging markets, Da Nang has proactively upgraded its infrastructure, trained specialized tourism personnel, and supported business connections to effectively utilize air routes.

The Dubai-Da Nang route is the result of a more than two-year negotiation process between the Da Nang authorities and Emirates.
From the beginning of 2023, the city identified the opening of a flight route from Dubai as a key task in its international tourism development strategy. High-level meetings between Da Nang city leaders and Emirates representatives in Dubai, as well as field surveys, contributed to realizing this plan.
Emirates currently operates 25 flights per week to Vietnam, including 14 to Ho Chi Minh City, 7 to Hanoi, and 4 to Da Nang.
