On June 3, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that Emirates International Airlines has officially launched a flight route connecting Dubai - Da Nang, transiting in Bangkok, with a frequency of 4 flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The first flight, flight number EK370, landed at Da Nang airport at 7:50 p.m. on June 2, carrying 333 international passengers on a wide-body Boeing 777.

The plane was greeted with a traditional water cannon salute. Passengers were also presented with flowers, souvenirs and enjoyed a special folk art performance.
Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, said that Emirates' opening of flights to Da Nang creates an opportunity to connect the city with more than 140 destinations worldwide, especially potential markets such as the Middle East, Europe, North America and Africa.
This is an important driving force to develop tourism, promote trade, investment, and promote the image of Da Nang to the world.
To prepare for the influx of visitors from the Middle East and new markets, Da Nang has proactively upgraded its infrastructure, trained specialized tourism human resources, and supported business connections to effectively exploit flight routes.

The Dubai - Da Nang route is the result of a promotion process lasting more than 2 years between the Da Nang government and Emirates.
Since the beginning of 2023, the city has identified the opening of flights from Dubai as a key task in its international tourism development strategy. High-level meetings between Da Nang city leaders and Emirates representatives in Dubai, as well as field surveys, have contributed to the realization of this plan.
Emirates currently operates 25 flights per week to Vietnam, including 14 flights to Ho Chi Minh City, 7 flights to Hanoi and 4 flights to Da Nang.
