At the time of the incident, the plane was at an altitude of about 460m, carrying 273 passengers and 8 crew members.
The video shows bright orange flashes coming from the right engine of the plane as it flies over the port of Corfu, Greece.
Several people on the ground recorded the incident and said they heard a “loud, explosion-like sound” coming from the plane during the incident. The engine flashed for several seconds before suddenly going out.
After a few minutes, the plane turned right and changed direction, flying around to parallel the runway of Corfu airport. At this point, the airport was put on red alert.

However, the captain of the flight decided that there was no need to make an emergency landing in Corfu. The pilot assessed that the plane could continue its journey with only one engine running.
The plane then flew to an altitude of nearly 2,500m and landed safely at Brindisi Airport (Italy). This airport is located across the Adriatic Sea from the island of Corfu.
According to German television station RTL, the crew was forced to divert to Brindisi due to an engine failure that prevented them from continuing to Düsseldorf as planned.
In an official statement, a representative of Condor Airlines said they would like to apologize to passengers for the inconvenience. The airline affirmed that passenger safety is always the top priority in all situations.
All passengers and crew have been accommodated overnight at a hotel and are expected to depart for their final destination on August 17.
Previously, another plane skidded off the runway during an emergency landing at Birmingham airport on August 6, causing all flights there to be delayed for hours.
The small Beech B200 Super King Air aircraft, en route to Belfast, was forced to make an emergency landing on the city's runway at 1:40 p.m.
An anonymous witness said the plane landed without being able to fully lower its landing gear.
