According to Fox32 , many passengers on a Southwest Airlines flight from Burbank to Las Vegas (USA) experienced a terrifying moment on the afternoon of July 25 when the plane suddenly lowered its altitude to avoid a collision in the air.
A passenger posted on X Network said that the pilot of Southwest Airlines Flight 1496 had to make a sudden descent to avoid another plane at Hollywood Burbank Airport (California). The passenger said that he and several others on the plane were thrown from their seats and hit their heads on the ceiling.

Passenger Caitlin Burdi told FOX News Digital that shortly after the incident, the pilot announced over the intercom that they had nearly collided with another plane and had reportedly lost contact with air traffic control.
"About 10 minutes after takeoff, the plane had to suddenly descend and I felt like I was in free fall. Many people were screaming in panic. We really thought the plane was going down in a plane crash," passenger Burdi recounted.
The flight then continued to Las Vegas, where it landed safely.
Two flight attendants were injured and are being treated. A spokesperson for Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas said one person on the flight was taken to the hospital.
Southwest Airlines released a statement following the incident: "We are working with the Federal Aviation Administration to clarify the incident. We appreciate the professionalism of the flight crew and flight attendants in responding to this incident. Nothing is more important than the safety of our passengers and employees."
