This sixth cooperation not only affirms the long-term cooperative relationship, but also opens up breakthrough opportunities in the fields of disease treatment, surgical robot application and training of the country's leading medical human resources.
New cooperation between Medtronic Vietnam and VDUH
Building on the success of previous programs, the latest agreement outlines 11 comprehensive training programs, focusing on key areas such as cardiology, neuroscience , and especially minimally invasive surgical techniques - areas that always require high levels of expertise and constant technological updates.
Within the framework of this cooperation, Medtronic Vietnam commits to providing Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, helping surgeons improve their skills and master the latest technologies, thereby improving the quality of patient service.
These programs not only help doctors at VDUH, the largest surgical center in Vietnam, quickly access advanced techniques such as endoscopic heart surgery, high-precision neurosurgery or robotic-assisted surgical techniques, but also help them apply them effectively in clinical practice.
Breakthrough in surgery and robotic applications
One of the highlights of this year's cooperation is training programs on neurosurgical techniques, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVI) and robot-assisted surgery - breakthroughs in modern surgery.
Medtronic has demonstrated a strong commitment to integrating robotics into complex surgeries, improving precision and reducing patient risk. These training programs build on the foundation of previous long-standing collaborations, such as minimally invasive spine surgery, hemorrhagic stroke treatment, and advanced workshops on lung transplantation and thoracic aortic surgery.

The combination of expertise and advanced technology creates a high-quality training environment, contributing to improving the capacity of Vietnamese doctors. Thanks to that, optimal treatment methods are brought closer to patients across the country, promoting medical progress in the region.
In addition to clinical training activities, the collaboration between Medtronic and VDUH also aims to raise public awareness of complex diseases such as musculoskeletal deformities. Community programs for patients not only help improve knowledge and reduce social stigma but also promote earlier and more effective treatment regimens. This is a strategic step to create a good healthcare ecosystem where knowledge, skills and community are developed in parallel.
Contribute to improving Vietnamese healthcare
Medtronic, one of the world's leading medical technology companies, is constantly innovating to make a difference for the global community. With more than 90,000 employees operating in more than 150 countries, Medtronic's goal is to relieve pain, promote recovery, prolong life and improve the quality of life of people. Their solutions range from advanced cardiovascular devices, robotic surgical systems, insulin pumps, surgical instruments to patient monitoring systems.
Mr. Mongkol Sankum, Director of Medtronic Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos, shared his pride in cooperating with Viet Duc Friendship Hospital - the leading training and patient care center in Vietnam. “Our goal is not only to bring advanced technologies closer to patients but also to contribute to building a leading surgical training center in the region, promoting the development of the Vietnamese healthcare industry in a more modern and professional direction,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Duong Duc Hung, Director of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, emphasized: “This partnership not only helps improve the quality of treatment but also orients the development of domestic medical human resources. We believe that, with support from Medtronic, our team of doctors and nurses will become more and more steadfast, ready to accept new techniques, contributing to bringing the Vietnamese medical industry further on the regional and world medical map.”
The signing event is a strategic step, promising to bring new breakthroughs in the field of healthcare in Vietnam. Thanks to these advances, the Vietnamese people will benefit from the best healthcare services, contributing to building a healthier, happier community in the near future.
