HCMC Metro Line 1 earned more than 11.7 billion VND on the occasion of Tet At Ty

(Dan Tri) - During the 10 days of Tet At Ty, Metro Line No. 1 served more than 761,000 passengers and operated more than 1,700 trains.


During the 10 days of Tet At Ty (from January 24 to February 2), Metro Line No. 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien served more than 761,000 passengers, with 1,700 train trips, earning more than 11.7 billion VND in ticket sales.

The information was announced by Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1) on the morning of February 3.

Of which, the second day of Tet is the day with the highest number of visitors, 120,000 people, earning more than 1.8 billion VND. The remaining peak days have the number of visitors ranging from 45,000 to 110,000 people/day.

Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro is the first metro line built and put into operation in Ho Chi Minh City with a length of 19.7km connecting the center of District 1 with the eastern area such as Binh Thanh and Thu Duc city.

Initially, Metro Line 1 operates from 5am to 10pm every day, with the first trip departing at 5am and the last trip departing at 10pm with 9 trains.

Each train carries a maximum of 930 passengers (including 147 seats and 783 standing seats) with an interval of 8-12 minutes/trip, a total of 200 trips per day. Speed 110km/h (elevated section) and 80km/h (underground section).

The lowest train ticket price for each trip is 7,000 VND, the highest is 20,000 VND (for customers paying in cash). For customers buying one-way tickets without using cash, the lowest ticket price is 6,000 VND and the highest is 19,000 VND.

Daily tickets cost 40,000 VND, with no limit on the number of trips per day; 3-day tickets cost 90,000 VND, with no limit on the number of trips per 3 days. Regular customers pay 300,000 VND for monthly tickets, with no limit on the number of trips per month. Monthly tickets for students cost 150,000 VND. The above ticket prices include passenger insurance.
