*Pig price in the Northern region
Last week, the price of live pigs continued to increase in the Northern region. Currently, live pigs in this region are being sold at prices ranging from 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Of which, the highest transaction price in the country is 64,000 VND/kg, recorded in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Thai Binh and Hai Duong.
*Pig price in the Central Highlands region
In the Central Highlands region, the price of live pigs increased from 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg, with the provinces in the region buying and selling at around 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, live pigs in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Lam Dong and Binh Thuan are being sold at 63,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region. Meanwhile, the lowest price in the region is 60,000 VND/kg in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Khanh Hoa and Quang Nam .
*Pig price in the Southern region
The southern pig market continued to fluctuate in the past week. Currently, traders in this area are purchasing pigs at prices ranging from 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, after the latest adjustment (December 7), Can Tho is the only locality in the region with live pig price reaching 64,000 VND/kg.
* Vietnam imported pork from 40 markets, of which Brazil accounted for 39.28% of total imported pork, followed by Russia at 29.88%. India is still a major market supplying meat and meat products to Vietnam, accounting for 22.67% of the total imported meat and meat products of the country, with 159.48 thousand tons, worth 531.49 million USD, up 13% in volume and 28% in value over the same period in 2023.
Vietnam's imports of meat and meat products from many markets continued to grow compared to the same period in 2023 such as: Australia, the United States, Canada, Poland, South Korea, the Netherlands, Argentina, Hong Kong (China), Iran, Italy, Türkiye, Japan, Belgium, New Zealand, France...
However, Vietnam's imports of meat and meat products decreased from some major markets such as Russia, Brazil, Spain, and Denmark.
