According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of July 31 to August 1, in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, there will continue to be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 20-60mm, locally over 120mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and night). Warning of the risk of heavy rain (> 90mm/3 hours).

In addition, at the same time, in other places in the North and Thanh Hoa, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 70mm.

On the afternoon of August 1, the Central Highlands and the Southeast region had some places with heavy rain with rainfall of over 50mm.

From the night of August 1, heavy rain in the mountainous and midland areas of the North gradually decreased.

Meanwhile, on August 1-2, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang , the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will continue to have hot weather, some places will be extremely hot with the highest temperature commonly 35-37 degrees, some places will be over 37 degrees; the lowest relative humidity commonly 55-60%.

The heat wave in the Central region is likely to last for many days to come.

As for Hanoi weather on August 1, the day will be intermittently sunny with the highest temperature dropping to about 32 degrees, the weather will be cool; in the afternoon and at night, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.

The Meteorological Agency warns that areas experiencing thunderstorms should be on the lookout for tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. There is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.

People in at-risk areas should proactively monitor further bulletins and take disaster prevention measures.
