Since its launch, the "Journey to Chuet Village" program has attracted many student groups from 8 kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools in the Dien Hong, Thong Nhat, Hoi Phu, and An Phu wards to participate.
Schools can register their students for the tour online via the "Plei Chuet Community Tourism Village" fanpage, managed by the program organizers. In addition to students, the program also attracts many domestic and international tourists to experience Jrai culture.

The program originated from an idea by a group of young people from three villages: Chuét 1, Chuét 2, and Chuét Ngol (An Phú ward), led by Kpă H'Nhung (born in 1998, a Jrai woman from Chuét 2 village), with the desire to preserve and spread Jrai culture to the younger generation.
The activity also contributes to the National Tourism Year - Gia Lai 2026 by creating a community cultural experience space for students and tourists.
To better serve tourists, young people in the village actively attended a training course on traditional culture for tourism development, focusing on exploiting traditional cultural values at typical tourist destinations in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in December 2025. Among them, Ms. Kpă H'Nhung received a certificate of commendation for her outstanding achievements in this course.
During the program, students visited the communal house, listened to presentations about the daily life and traditional culture of the Jrai people. Following that, they participated in activities such as stilt walking and rice pounding; they were taught to play gongs, t'rưng instruments, and stone xylophones, and learned about the craft of brocade weaving…

Amidst the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the Central Highlands villages, experiential activities unfolded with great enthusiasm. To the resounding sounds of gongs and drums in the courtyard of the Chuét Ngol village communal house, many students happily joined the local people in a traditional dance circle.
Some children stumble when they try walking on stilts for the first time, then burst into laughter with delight; others curiously touch the loom used for weaving brocade or fiddle with the wooden pestle as they practice pounding rice in the traditional Jrai way.
Most recently, the village welcomed a group of students and teachers from Tuoi Tho Kindergarten (Dien Hong ward) for a visit on May 7th. The children were even more excited when the school rented them traditional brocade costumes to wear, making the commemorative photos even more memorable.
Little Le Gia Linh (a student at Tuoi Tho Kindergarten) innocently shared: “I’m very happy to go to Chuet Ngol village with my friends. What I liked most was practicing walking on stilts and listening to the gongs and drums.”

Besides providing an experiential playground for students, the program is also a way for young people in the three villages to contribute to preserving and spreading traditional identity. As someone who directly accompanies and guides the activities, Ms. Kpă H'Nhung said: The group currently has 6-10 members who participate in supporting whenever a group of students comes for the experience.
The program is a collaborative effort between artisans and young people in the villages. Each member takes on a different role, such as instructing students in weaving brocade, playing gongs and drums, or organizing folk games.
Ms. Pham Thi Lanh, Principal of Tuoi Tho Kindergarten, commented: “This is the first time our students have participated in experiencing the traditional culture of the Jrai people, so they are very excited. Practical activities like this help children access traditional culture in a vivid way. I hope the program will continue to be maintained, with more forms of promotion and connection, so that more children can come and learn about the Jrai people's village.”
