After the merger, Y Ty commune (Lao Cai) possesses outstanding potentials and advantages in terms of climate, natural landscapes and ethnic cultures with rich identities. These are favorable conditions for developing tourism and temperate agriculture . With open space, Y Ty has a lot of room to attract more resources, promoting comprehensive development.

Having lived in Y Ty for many years and currently managing a resort here, Mr. Do Van Thang, Director of Cloud Paradise Resort Y Ty, believes that this land has strengths that few localities in the northern mountainous region have.
The resort has connected with many businesses and they all expressed their desire to invest in developing tourism here systematically and sustainably.
We hope that Y Ty will soon announce detailed plans so that businesses can have a basis for research and propose suitable projects, and together contribute to awakening the potential of this land, building a worthy tourist area. From there, the ethnic people here will benefit from the land to which they have been attached for many generations.
Located at an altitude of more than 2,000 m above sea level, Y Ty is endowed with many beautiful landscapes, majestic mountains, and rich natural resources. There are many typical trees and flowers here, such as: rhododendron, wild peach, hawthorn, red maple and rare herbs...

Y Ty is also an attractive tourist destination with Thien Sinh Bridge - the shortest international bridge connecting Vietnam and China and border markers with historical and geographical significance; Choan Then Park - the tree of happiness - a favorite destination of many tourists; The Pa terraced fields are ranked as a national scenic spot by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Y Ty commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of two commune-level administrative units, including A Lu and Y Ty, with 127.58 km2 and 10,304 people.
After the merger, Y Ty also has Khu Chu Lin terraced fields - a painting on the border and Ngai Thau Thuong village known as the highest village in Vietnam...
Not only possessing diverse and pristine natural landscapes, Y Ty is also home to ethnic communities rich in identity, especially the Black Ha Nhi people with cultural features found nowhere else.
The Kho Gia Gia Festival (Praying for a good harvest) of the local people here is preserved intact and has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The typical rammed earth houses; traditional festivals; unique customs and practices and highland cuisine have created a distinct appeal, attracting domestic and foreign tourists...
This place has all the conditions to develop community tourism. Visitors coming here will experience many emotions when living in a peaceful village, where people blend with nature.
Based on the existing potential and strengths, in the coming period, tourism will continue to be identified as a breakthrough development field of the locality. The commune will focus on implementing specific solutions for development such as enhancing promotion, improving landscapes, preserving ethnic cultural identities, encouraging people to participate in building unique cultural products (traditional festivals, traditional crafts, culture, arts, folk games, etc.), tourism services (homestay, motels, etc.) to serve domestic and foreign tourists.

Along with that, the locality attracts organizations, individuals and businesses to invest in building quality accommodation facilities and resorts; maintains and develops 2 community tourism villages (Choan Then, Lao Chai); strives to attract more than 500,000 visitors/year.
One of the important factors promoting the development of Y Ty is the strong investment in transport infrastructure, solving the biggest bottleneck before and opening up strong development opportunities for tourism.
Up to now, the orientational plans for the next phase of Y Ty have been basically completed, in which the general plan and zoning plan have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee. These plans clearly define the conservation area and the urban, tourism, agricultural and service development areas.
The routes from the old Lao Cai city to Y Ty; the road connecting Sa Pa with Y Ty; the border belt road are being invested and upgraded, not only helping Y Ty easily access resources but also improving the experience of tourists, creating motivation for Y Ty to develop breakthroughs in the future.

On this basis, in the coming time, the locality will promote the development of regional connectivity infrastructure and framework infrastructure to attract businesses to invest, promote tourism in particular and the local socio-economy in general.
Y Ty is on the path of strong development thanks to the combination of available potential, synchronous planning and effective infrastructure investment. Solving traffic congestion is opening the door for Y Ty to develop rapidly, gradually realizing the goal of becoming a world-class tourist area.
With a clear orientation, the strong leadership of the new organization and the consensus of the government and people, Y Ty is not only expected to become a tourist highlight of Lao Cai in particular and Vietnam in general, but also a symbol of sustainable development, combining conservation and exploitation of unique values of nature and culture.
