Having been associated with Y Tý for many years and currently managing a resort there, Mr. Do Van Thang, Director of Cloud Paradise Resort Y Tý, believes that this land possesses strengths that few other localities in the northern mountainous region have.

The resort has connected with many businesses, all of whom have expressed a desire to invest in the systematic and sustainable development of tourism in the area.

We hope that Y Tý will soon announce detailed planning documents so that businesses have a basis for research and proposing suitable projects, contributing to unlocking the potential of this land and building a worthy tourist area. From there, the ethnic communities here will benefit from the land they have been connected to for generations.

Mr. Do Van Thang, Director of Cloud Paradise Resort Y Ty.

Located at an altitude of over 2,000 meters above sea level, Y Tý is blessed with many beautiful landscapes, majestic mountains, and abundant natural resources. It boasts many unique plant and flower species, such as rhododendrons, wild peach blossoms, hawthorn, red maple, and rare medicinal herbs…

Y Tý is also an attractive tourist destination with Thien Sinh Bridge - the shortest international bridge connecting Vietnam and China, and border markers with historical and geographical significance; Choan Then Park - the "happiness tree" - a favorite destination for many tourists; and The Pa terraced rice fields, which have been classified as a National Scenic Landscape by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Y Tý commune was established by merging the entire natural area and population of two commune-level administrative units, namely A Lù and Y Tý, covering an area of 127.58 km2 and with a population of 10,304 people.

After the merger, Y Tý also boasts the Khu Chu Lìn terraced rice fields – a picturesque landscape on the border – and Ngải Thầu Thượng village, known as the highest village in Vietnam…

Besides its diverse and pristine natural landscapes, Y Tý is also home to a community of ethnic groups with rich cultural identities, especially the Black Hà Nhì people with their unique cultural characteristics found nowhere else.

The Khô Già Già Festival (Harvest Festival) of the local people has been preserved intact and recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage.

The characteristic earthen-walled houses; traditional festivals; unique customs and practices; and highland cuisine have created a distinct appeal, attracting tourists from both within and outside the country...

This place has all the conditions for developing community tourism; visitors will experience a range of emotions while living in a peaceful village, where people are in harmony with nature.

Based on its existing potential and strengths, tourism will continue to be identified as a breakthrough development sector for the locality in the coming period. The commune will focus on implementing specific solutions for development such as strengthening promotion, improving the landscape, preserving the cultural identity of ethnic groups, encouraging people to participate in building unique cultural products (traditional festivals, traditional crafts, culture, arts, folk games, etc.), and tourism services (homestays, guesthouses, etc.) to serve domestic and international tourists.

In addition, the locality is attracting organizations, individuals, and businesses to invest in building quality accommodation facilities and resorts; maintaining and developing two community tourism villages (Choan Then, Lao Chai); and striving to attract more than 500,000 visitors per year.

One of the key factors driving the development of Y Tý is the significant investment in transportation infrastructure, addressing the biggest bottleneck previously and opening up strong opportunities for tourism development.

To date, the planning guidelines for the next phase of Y Tý have been basically completed, including the general plan and the detailed zoning plan, which have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee. These plans clearly define the conservation area and the areas for urban development, tourism, agriculture, and services.

Mr. To Van Thanh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Y Ty Commune.

The roads from the old Lao Cai city to Y Ty; the road connecting Sa Pa with Y Ty; and the border ring road are being invested in and upgraded, not only helping Y Ty easily access resources but also enhancing the tourist experience and creating momentum for Y Ty's breakthrough development in the future.

Based on this, the locality will focus on developing regional connectivity infrastructure and key infrastructure to attract businesses to invest, thereby promoting tourism in particular and the socio-economic development of the locality in general.

Y Tý is experiencing rapid development thanks to a combination of its inherent potential, comprehensive planning, and effective infrastructure investment. Addressing the transportation bottleneck is opening the door for Y Tý to achieve remarkable growth, gradually realizing its goal of becoming a world-class tourist destination.

With clear direction, decisive leadership from the new organizational structure, and the consensus of the government and people, Y Tý is not only expected to become a tourism highlight of Lao Cai in particular and Vietnam in general, but also a symbol of sustainable development, combining conservation and exploitation of the unique values of nature and culture.
