Y Ty commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of two commune-level administrative units, including A Lu and Y Ty, with 127.58 km2 and 10,304 people.

Up to now, the orientational plans for the next phase of Y Ty have been basically completed, in which the general plan and zoning plan have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee.
