It is worth noting that Gia Lai's high-tech agricultural production areas are developing strongly, focusing on key crops such as coffee, passion fruit, durian, banana, avocado, pepper, medicinal herbs, sugar cane, etc. This is a positive sign for the development of the agricultural sector in Gia Lai in the near future.
Land of great potential
Gia Lai is located in the center of the Central Highlands, where the tropical monsoon climate, fertile red basalt soil and large land fund create favorable conditions for agricultural development. This locality owns an abundant river and stream system, along with high rainfall and high humidity. These are important factors that help crops grow well. In addition, the cool climate all year round creates favorable conditions for fruit trees, vegetables, flowers, and medicinal herbs to thrive.
Gia Lai is focusing on developing specialized areas and applying advanced technology to increase the added value of agricultural products. |
With a large area of agricultural land and an increasingly complete infrastructure system, Gia Lai is becoming an ideal destination for investors in the field of high-tech agriculture. In particular, Gia Lai is focusing on developing specialized areas, applying advanced technology to increase the added value of agricultural products, while ensuring the sustainability of the local agricultural sector.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Gia Lai province, in recent years, the agricultural sector has implemented many programs and projects to promote the development of high-tech agriculture. Local authorities have identified vegetable, flower and fruit production as key agricultural products with comparative advantages, which can bring high economic efficiency. Domestic and international demand for these products is forecast to continue to increase, opening up great opportunities for the province's agricultural sector.
In particular, Gia Lai has developed a project to develop vegetable, flower and fruit production until 2030, with a vision to 2040, with the goal of becoming a major fruit and vegetable production center in the country. Accordingly, Gia Lai province will allocate about 120,000 hectares of land to implement the project, with an expected production value of more than VND 54,370 billion by 2030; bringing the export turnover of agricultural products to about 500-600 million USD by 2030, double the current level.
To achieve these goals, Gia Lai has actively called for and attracted domestic and foreign enterprises to invest in high-tech agriculture. Especially enterprises producing plant varieties, processing agricultural products, organic agriculture and high technology. Currently, Gia Lai has built open policies and mechanisms, creating favorable conditions for investors and proactively supporting administrative procedures, land, taxes and infrastructure.
The right policy creates momentum for business development
In fact, Gia Lai has attracted many large projects to invest in the field of high-tech agriculture. One of the typical projects is the high-tech agricultural zone of Nafood Group in Pleiku City (Gia Lai), producing passion fruit varieties and processing passion fruit with a capacity of up to 350 tons/day. This project not only contributes to providing high-quality agricultural products for the domestic and export markets but also creates thousands of jobs for local people.
In addition to Nafood Group, another prominent enterprise is Vinh Hiep Company Limited, which has invested in an organic coffee farm in Ia Tiem Commune, Chu Se District (Gia Lai), with an area of about 45 hectares. The farm not only produces organic coffee that meets US standards but also creates added value for Gia Lai province's coffee products.
Along with investment in high-tech agricultural production, processing activities are also being upgraded by businesses to increase the value of agricultural products. |
At the same time, Thong Do International Joint Stock Company has invested in a passion fruit seed production area in Ia Phang commune, Chu Puh district, with an area of over 12 hectares, of which 8 hectares are greenhouses applying modern technology.
In addition to seed production projects, Gia Lai has also attracted projects for deep processing of agricultural products. A typical example is Hung Son High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, with a project to grow bananas in Dak Doa district. This project has now expanded to 216 hectares. The company's banana products meet GlobalGAP standards and are exported to many countries such as Japan, Korea, China, Singapore, Qatar, and Israel, bringing in large revenues for the locality.
These projects help Gia Lai effectively exploit its agricultural potential. At the same time, they promote local socio-economic development. Enterprises operating in the field of high-tech agriculture have created thousands of jobs for local workers, contributing to improving the quality of life of people, increasing the value of agricultural products, and contributing to the state budget.
To achieve the “sweet fruits”, the Gia Lai provincial government always focuses on attracting investment in high-tech agricultural projects, while actively building open and favorable investment policies and mechanisms. The issue is recognized by businesses, Gia Lai province has promoted administrative procedure reform, reduced legal barriers to create conditions for businesses to easily access and implement projects. Tax, land and investment support policies are implemented promptly and transparently, creating an attractive investment environment.
With the support of local authorities, businesses investing in Gia Lai not only benefit from preferential policies but can also access an abundant labor force, willing to learn and participate in modern agricultural production.
According to Mr. Dinh Huu Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, in the coming time, Gia Lai will continue to call for large-scale high-tech agricultural projects. Especially in areas such as medicinal herbs, organic agriculture, plant breeding centers and projects applying advanced technology to agricultural production. It is expected to implement a number of large projects such as: High-tech agricultural projects in Chu Gu, Phu Can, Ia Mlah communes, Krong Pa district, with an area of 1,000 hectares and a total investment of 300 billion VND...
Gia Lai is facing a great opportunity to become a high-tech agricultural center of Vietnam. With advantages in natural conditions, open investment policies and consensus of local authorities, Gia Lai province is creating a favorable environment for investors. High-tech agricultural projects promise to bring economic benefits; contribute to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector, improve people's lives and promote local socio-economic development in the near future.
