How to calculate high school graduation score 2024
Candidates can calculate their 2024 high school graduation scores through the national calculator online at https://thptquocgia.edu.vn/tinhdiem.
The formula for calculating high school graduation scores is divided into two types: scoring for highschool students and scoring for continuing education students.
The 2024 high school graduation score for the high school system is calculated based on a combination of 3 subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and 1 optional exam based on the exam block that the candidate chooses (Natural Sciences : Physics, Chemistry, Biology; Social Sciences: History, Geography, Civic Education).
The optional exam will be the average score of the combination of 3 subjects, that is, add the scores of 3 subjects together and divide by 3 to get the optional exam score.
For students in the Continuing Education system, they will take 2 independent exams: Math, Literature and 1 optional combination exam of Natural Sciences or Social Sciences. The calculation of the 2023 high school graduation score for the Continuing Education system is similar to the calculation of the score for the high school system.
Candidates also need to remember the rules for rounding off national high school exam scores in 2024.
If the total score of the high school graduation essay test is an odd number, it will be rounded to two decimal places.
The high school graduation multiple-choice test will be rounded to two decimal places for each test and each component subject of the combined test.
So how many points do you need for each subject to pass high school graduation in 2024?
Accordingly, the high school graduation score depends on the high school graduation exam, priority points (if any), incentive points (if any) and the average score of grade 12. In which, the graduation exam score accounts for the highest percentage of the total graduation score.
To pass the level 12 exam, candidates must fully satisfy the conditions specified in Article 42 of Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, including:
First, candidates are eligible to take the exam and are not subject to disciplinary action for their exam results.
Second, all exams and component subjects of the combined exam registered for graduation recognition must score above 1.0 on a 10-point scale, meaning no failing score in any subject, no subject below 1 point.
Third is candidates with high school graduation scores of 5.0 points or higher.
Thus, students who want to pass the 2024 high school graduation exam must have a high school graduation score of 5.0 or higher.
In addition, each subject needs to achieve a score of more than 1.0 on a 10-point scale to pass the 2024 high school graduation exam.
The 2024 high school graduation exam nationwide has a total of 1,067,391 candidates registered to participate, 43,328 more than in 2023. Of which, the number of independent candidates is 45,344. Due to the increase in candidates, the number of exam scores this year also increased, nationwide there are 2,323 exam locations, 45,149 exam rooms.
The provinces and cities with the largest number of candidates registering for the exam include: Hanoi : 109,078 candidates; Ho Chi Minh City: 88,196 candidates; Thanh Hoa: 38,677 candidates.
