MoMo receives PCI DSS v4.0 global standard payment security certificate

MoMo is the first FinTech company in Vietnam to achieve the international PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) version 4.0 certification – the highest global security standard currently available.

The PCI DSS v4.0 international security certification provides greater peace of mind for MoMo users.

MoMo's achievement of the international PCI DSS version 4.0 security certification is highly significant for users of the MoMo ecosystem. Already possessing robust security layers, it now offers additional multi-layered authentication, protecting customer information and transaction data while maintaining a smooth and user-friendly experience. This creates a secure financial transaction environment, fostering trust and peace of mind for users when using MoMo.

The PCI DSS version 4.0 standard adapts to the evolution of payment technology, reflecting and responding promptly to information security requirements, enabling organizations to be prepared to respond to changes in the online environment. The goal of version 4.0 is to address emerging threats and technologies, enabling innovative methods to combat new threats to customer payment information. This is the most significant upgrade since the release of version 3.0 in 2014.

MoMo is the first FinTech company in Vietnam to achieve PCI DSS version 4.0 certification by proactively approaching and meeting the stringent standards and implementing the latest rigorous control measures of this version, to protect the integrity of the MoMo ecosystem for customers and partners.

With the PCI DSS v4.0 security standard, in addition to the current criteria of version 3.2.1, which include key requirements such as: Building and maintaining a secure network system, Protecting payment card data, Building and maintaining network security, Building an intrusion control system, Regularly monitoring and evaluating the system, and Information protection policy, MoMo has met more than 300 requirements of the new version 4.0, including implementing cloud computing security policies and measures as well as multi-layer authentication.
