Moscow considers building hotel exclusively for Russian tourists to Cuba, selling goods to Havana through special 'house of commerce'

Speaking with Cuban Ambassador to Moscow Julio Garmendía, Mr. Titov said that many Russian manufacturers are interested in promoting their products in Cuba.

At the same time, the Russian representative expressed hope that the new “commercial house” will become a wholesale importer of Moscow products and independently determine prices on the retail market of the Caribbean island.

According to Mr. Titov, Havana has preliminarily agreed to this idea and Moscow hopes to soon sign a relevant contract, contributing to solving complex logistical problems such as transporting Russian goods.

In addition, with the trend of Russian tourists to Cuba gradually recovering, Moscow is considering building a hotel exclusively for tourists from the Eurasian country in the Latin American country.

Regarding bilateral relations, on March 30, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov affirmed that efforts to create new cooperation mechanisms between Russia and friendly countries, including Cuba, will not depend on the United States.

In an interview with the Latin American news agency Prensa Latina , Lavrov stressed that the strategic ties between Moscow and Havana “are rooted in human relations, understanding between peoples,” and expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue to develop.

According to Foreign Minister Lavrov, the Russian and Cuban governments are expanding mechanisms and capabilities to achieve the desired results, despite the restrictive measures imposed by the West.

The head of Russian diplomacy highly appreciated Cuba's efforts to fight the embargo in the context that Moscow is also facing more than 11,000 sanctions from the West.

During the Cuban President's visit to Russia in November 2022, President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Russian President Putin agreed to continue to comprehensively strengthen the bilateral strategic relationship.
