The Purge of Amorim
The US tour is the first step in United 's preparation period ahead of the 2025/26 season, when Ruben Amorim has time to build the squad and establish internal discipline.
It can be said that MU is entering a decisive transition period with Ruben Amorim.

After a disappointing 2024/25 season with a 14th place in the Premier League, losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final and not being able to participate in the next European Cup, the Portuguese strategist embarked on a "major overhaul" of the dressing room.
The first name to leave is Marcus Rashford. The English striker, a product of the Carrington training academy, joined Barcelona on loan , with a buyback clause next year.
Rashford was pampered for years, so lacked discipline from the last months of Erik ten Hag's tenure, until Amorim appeared.
Rashford is not an isolated case, of course. Alejandro Garnacho – another youngster who came through the academy – has also been involved in disciplinary controversy.
Along with Rashford and Garnacho, the list of players who must leave MU in this summer's transfer window includes Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho.
When MU gathered again for a medical examination on July 7, Rashford led a group of 5 players completely eliminated from Amorim's plans for next season.
Before Rashford reached an agreement with Barca, he and four others were banned from attending first-team training sessions, only allowed to use the club's facilities for medical reasons or injury recovery.
The message from Amorim was clear: they were no longer part of his sporting project.

Hard
However, this drastic approach is creating the opposite effect: other teams realize the urgency of MU in clearing the squad, thereby gaining the upper hand at the negotiating table.
“We are limited ,” Ruben Amorim admitted before the summer break. “We can’t change everything, but we know what we need.”
Up to now, MU has only had 2 new contracts: Matheus Cunha from Wolves, the new number 10 owner since Rashford had not left, and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford with a fee of 75 million euros - receiving the number 19 shirt.
These two deals are considered not enough to turn around the fate of a team that was once a leading force in European football.
Rashford's departure will help United reduce a huge amount of wages, but Sancho is still a headache. With a high income, finding an outlet for the English player is not simple.
Juventus are keeping a close eye on Sancho, but the Old Lady's priority is Chico Conceicao - who played for them on loan last season and has now agreed a transfer.

Meanwhile, the remaining three names - Antony, Garnacho and Malacia - although their salaries are lower, are not easy to liquidate.
Real Betis are keen to bring Antony back to Benito Villamarin after an impressive first half season. Garnacho is being closely watched by Chelsea, Napoli and Atletico Madrid. Malacia is also on Celtic's radar.
However, so far, no official offer has been sent to the Old Trafford office.
The summer transfer market is passing by day by day, while the new season is about to start so clubs need to assemble their squads.
With each passing day, the pressure on MU grows. If he cannot clear the wage bill and offload players who are no longer in his plans, Amorim will have to enter the new season with a squad that he himself does not really want.
