Painter Luong Xuan Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, shared: “I was very moved when I saw Chu Nhat Quang and the young people painting. You must really love Vietnamese history, really love traditional art, especially lacquer. This is a very difficult material, but I see you paint with great dedication. I think this is a turning point for the young people, bringing many new expectations for contemporary Vietnamese art.”

Each lacquer painting bears the mark of pride and gratitude for our ancestors’ cause of reclaiming the country. Most of the paintings use the same space, interwoven with many golden historical moments such as “National Spring”, “Peaceful Country”, “Independence Palace April 30, 1975”, “Crossing Truong Son”, “Xuan Loc April 9, 1975”, “Fire Coordinates”, “Unyielding Bridge”, “Victory”…

The image of Uncle Ho is painted with admiration in the paintings "Nguyen Ai Quoc", "Journey of Nguyen Ai Quoc", "Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence", "Uncle Ho", "The most beautiful Vietnam has the name of Uncle Ho"...
Regarding the lacquer paintings of Uncle Ho, poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association , said: "The works of young artist Chu Nhat Quang give me the feeling that this great man is living in our very own years. His morality and ideology are increasingly spreading in our contemporary life."

Historical topics are always a big challenge in terms of knowledge and writing style for young artists, but the exhibition "Independence Spring" has truly contributed to creating resonance on the occasion of the whole country celebrating 80 years of independence and freedom.
