Official information released from MVI Life Insurance Company Limited (MVI Life) said that the unit has recorded information about the company's customer, an actress (actress Ngoc Lan - PV) reflecting on social networks concerns about the insurance product consulting process.
The insurer said the customer's contract in question was provided by Aviva Vietnam Life Insurance Company Limited before the company was acquired by Manulife Financial Group and renamed MVI Life in late 2021.
Accordingly, the change of the company name from Aviva Vietnam to MVI Life does not affect the insurance benefits of customers. The company always ensures compliance with all regulations and commitments in the contract between the company and customers and partners.

Regarding the case of actress Ngoc Lan, MVI Life said it had met and discussed with the customer and the customer's lawyer many times, actively received feedback, listened to and answered the customer's questions.
Specifically, before actress Ngoc Lan livestreamed her reflection on social media, the company and the customer had discussed, agreed and completed preparations for adjusting the insurance contract in accordance with the product characteristics and benefits specified in the contract terms.
This insurance company affirms that it always prioritizes ensuring the interests of customers in all situations.
Previously, actress Ngoc Lan livestreamed to share about buying life insurance at Aviva Vietnam Life Insurance Company Limited (now sold to Manulife Financial Group and renamed MVI Life Insurance Company Limited - MVI Life) with a value of up to 700 million VND/year. However, she affirmed that she was given ambiguous advice and was lured into signing a contract with many incorrect information as advised. The incident received great attention from the public.
Regarding this incident, on April 10, the Ministry of Finance sent an official dispatch to MVI Company requesting to strengthen control of the company's operations. Accordingly, the Ministry of Finance requested MVI Life Insurance Company Limited to review information on the insurance contract signed with Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan and the insurance agent's consultation process as well as the disclosure of information to customers when changing the investor and changing the company's name. At the same time, review the service and customer care work for valid insurance contracts. The company must report the results of all of the above work to the Department of Insurance Management and Supervision on April 11.
