The results published by Iran War Cost Tracker are based on real-time timing of the report that the Pentagon sent to the US Congress on March 10, which was publicly posted on its website. Specifically, the report states that Washington spent $11.3 billion in the first six days of the conflict in the Middle East and plans to spend an additional $1 billion for each subsequent day of the conflict.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a military campaign against Iran. Several major Iranian cities, including Tehran, were attacked. The White House justified the attack by citing the missile and nuclear threat from Iran.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps immediately announced a retaliatory campaign, targeting locations in Israel. Numerous US military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates were also attacked.
Former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several other key Iranian leaders were killed in a joint US-Israeli attack.
After three months of conflict, the US and Iran have agreed to extend the ceasefire for another 60 days, but this still requires final approval from US President Donald Trump. If completed, the agreement would be a major breakthrough after weeks of diplomatic deadlock between the US and Iran.
Axios further reported that during the ceasefire, the two sides would continue negotiations on Iran's nuclear program. The agreement is also expected to stipulate that the transport of goods through the Strait of Hormuz will not be obstructed, subject to fees or harassment, and that Iran must remove all mines within 30 days.
Meanwhile, Washington will lift the naval blockade of Tehran's ports once commercial shipping resumes.
In addition, the agreement includes a commitment from Tehran not to pursue nuclear weapons. One of the key issues to be resolved is how to handle the enriched uranium that Iran is stockpiling.
