US: Plane crashes into people during takeoff.

A flight departing from Denver International Airport in Colorado struck a person on the runway during takeoff on the evening of May 8th, injuring at least one passenger.

A flight departing from Denver International Airport in Colorado struck a person on the runway during takeoff on the evening of May 8th, injuring at least one passenger.

The airport management stated: "Flight Frontier 4345 reported striking a pedestrian during takeoff" at approximately 11:19 PM local time (12:19 PM on May 9th Hanoi time).

A brief engine fire occurred and was extinguished promptly by Denver Fire Department personnel. The victim's condition is not yet known.

All passengers were transported back to the station by bus. At least one passenger sustained minor injuries.

Frontier Airlines stated that the incident occurred while the Airbus A321 was departing for Los Angeles International Airport, carrying 224 passengers and 7 crew members. The airline is investigating the incident and gathering further information in coordination with the airport and other safety authorities.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board has been notified of the incident, and runway 17L at Denver International Airport will be closed while the investigation is underway.
