The career of a beauty from the Water Margin film

Liu Hongmei was born in 1965 in Beijing and studied in the 1987 performing arts class at the Central Academy of Drama, one of China's most prestigious arts schools. After graduating in 1991, she was retained by the school as a lecturer.

Chinese media consider her one of the key contributors to the early research and training of musical theater in China. In the early 1990s, she participated in numerous academic exchange programs abroad to learn about modern training models before returning to teach.

Despite not possessing a vast filmography, Liu Hongmei has left a lasting impression on fans of historical dramas. She has participated in many famous works such as *Water Margin* , *Tai Chi Zhang Sanfeng* , *Fang Shiyu* , *Xiao Yuer and Hua Wuque*, and many more .
