My Tho Sunset Run 2024: An exciting race.

An atmosphere of excitement was present from early morning at the My Tho Sunset Run 2024. More than 3,000 athletes from Vietnam and abroad enthusiastically competed in the 5km, 10km, and 21km races, as well as the KUN Fun Run My Tho for 800 children participating in the 800m race.

With a uniquely designed running route bathed in the brilliant golden-orange sunset light shining down on the Rach Mieu Bridge and the picturesque Tien River on the cool days of the winter solstice, thousands of footsteps harmonize in the twilight to provide a memorable experience for all participants.

This year's race route is designed to pass through central streets and prominent landmarks such as the Statue of Scholar Huân, and historic schools with striking architecture. Each route is not only a challenge for the athletes but also a journey to discover the rustic yet vibrant beauty of My Tho city, especially under the sunset, to conclude 2024 and begin 2025 even more brilliantly.

Inspiring athletes

The My Tho Sunset Run 2024 is organized under the direction of the My Tho City People's Committee and managed by the professional sports event organizer Nexus Sport Events. This is the first large-scale running event in the region organized in My Tho City, aiming not only to promote sportsmanship in the community but also to showcase the cultural and tourism beauty of the area.

In the 5km, 10km, and 21km races, the difference between runners was measured in seconds, and there were many exciting breakthroughs at the finish line. In the 21km race, Le Kim Duoc and Le Thi Bich narrowly beat second-place finishers Dang Anh Quyet and Le Thi Ha by just a few tens of seconds. Similarly, Nguyen Anh Tri overtook Le Van Binh in the 10km race in only 13 seconds, and Pham Thi Thuy beat Doan Thi Hien by 33 seconds. In the 5km race, victory went to Nguyen Van Khang and Nguyen Ngoc Lan.

At the KUN Fun Run My Tho 2024 children's race, more than 800 young athletes aged 6-10 from Tien Giang and surrounding areas enthusiastically participated.
