My Tho Sunset Run 2024: An exciting race

The atmosphere of excitement was there from early morning at the My Tho Sunset Run 2024. More than 3,000 domestic and foreign athletes were excited to compete in the distances of 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and the KUN Fun Run My Tho for 800 children participating in the distance of 800 m.

Beautiful road along the Tien River

With a uniquely designed running track covered in brilliant orange sunset light shining down on Rach Mieu Bridge and the poetic Tien River on cool winter solstice days, thousands of footsteps harmonize in the sunset light to bring a memorable experience to all participants.

This year's race is designed to cross central streets and prominent locations such as Thu Khoa Huan Statue, old schools with outstanding architecture, etc. Each route is not only a challenge for athletes but also a journey to discover the rustic but vibrant beauty of My Tho city, especially under the sunset to close 2024 and start 2025 more brilliantly.

The My Tho Sunset Run 2024 is directed and organized by the People's Committee of My Tho City and operated by the professional sports event organizer Nexus Sport Events. This is the first race in the region to be organized on a large scale in My Tho City, not only to enhance the sports spirit in the community but also to promote the cultural beauty and tourism here.

Exciting to run in the late afternoon, near sunset

In the 5 km, 10 km and 21 km distances, the difference between runners was only measured in seconds and there were many interesting breakthroughs at the finish line. In the 21 km distance, Le Kim Duoc and Le Thi Bich narrowly won over runners-up Dang Anh Quyet and Le Thi Ha by just a few dozen seconds. Similarly, Nguyen Anh Tri beat Le Van Binh in the 10 km distance by just 13 seconds and Pham Thi Thuy Hanh beat Doan Thi Hien by 33 seconds. In the 5 km event, Nguyen Van Khang and Nguyen Ngoc Lan won.

At the KUN Fun Run My Tho 2024 children's race, more than 800 young athletes from 6 to 10 years old in Tien Giang and neighboring areas enthusiastically participated.
