In a comment on the missile attack on Sevastopol, Pentagon Press Secretary Patrick Ryder stated that the US wants Ukraine to be informed and consulted regarding future attacks on Russian territory.
Mr. Patrick Ryder emphasized that Washington had asked Kiev not to involve the US in attacks that cause civilian casualties. At the same time, the Pentagon currently has no information on whether civilians were among the victims of the recent missile attack.

The Pentagon press secretary avoided answering the question of whether the US side provided the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with intelligence data to select targets before the attack on Sevastopol.
“I would refer you to them to talk about their operations,” said Patrick Ryder.
The West denies involvement in the Sevastopol attack.
On the evening of June 24, US Defense Department Spokesperson Major Charlie Dietz commented on the AFU attack on Sevastopol. He stated that Ukraine independently selected the targets to attack and conducted military operations independently. The US side did not participate in the attack. According to Major Charlie Dietz, Washington condemns any attack on civilians and the casualties in the attack are a tragedy.
US Ambassador to Moscow Lynn Tracy told the Russian Foreign Ministry that Washington regretted any civilian deaths in the conflict in Ukraine. In contrast, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that Washington did not judge who was responsible for the attack on Sevastopol.
“We have no assessment of the attack that just occurred,” Mr. Matthew Miller emphasized.
The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, accused the United States of directly participating in Ukraine's attack on Sevastopol with ATACMS missiles provided by the United States. Mr. Vasily Nebenzya also warned that the United States encouraged Ukraine's terrorist attacks against civilians.
European Union (EU) Foreign Policy Spokesperson Peter Stano said claims of an attack on Sevastopol with long-range NATO weapons were “not credible” and the EU did not condemn the incident.
Mr. Peter Stano emphasized that for the EU, Russia's statements about Ukraine "have almost zero credibility". Along with that, European officials did not express condolences regarding the attack in Sevastopol.
Ukraine does not accept peaceful life in Crimea
On June 23, Ukraine fired five US ATACMS missiles at the city of Sevastopol. Four of them were intercepted by Russian defense systems, while the remaining missile deviated from its flight path and exploded over the city. Its fragments were scattered along the Uchkuevka beach and caused casualties among civilians on the beach. According to the latest figures, 149 people were injured and four were killed in the attack. The city of Sevastopol has declared a state of emergency due to the incident.
When the attack took place, Ukrainian Presidential Office Advisor Mikhail Podolyak stressed that there should be no peaceful life in Crimea: “Crimea is a large military barracks and warehouse with hundreds of direct military targets.”
“There are no and cannot be any “beaches”, “resorts” and other fictitious signs of “peaceful life” in Crimea,” Mikhail Podolyak said.
According to sources, the AFU attacked Crimea and the city of Sevastopol with the help of civilian ships in the port of Odessa. Ukraine could place ATACMS missile launchers on cargo ships. After launching the missiles, these ships would camouflage themselves with other cargo ships in Odessa.
Russia is getting closer to completely pushing AFU out of the Robotine region
The TASS news agency reported that the commander of the artillery battery with the symbol Kusa informed that the Dnepier Task Force had destroyed the fortifications of the AFU north of Robotino, Zaporozhye region.
“You could say the enemy has exhausted their tactical reserves. They are mostly retreating. But we have all the cards in our hands. We have the base, we have the manpower, we have more equipment, we have more ammunition,” said soldier Kusa.
A few days ago, Russian tank units destroyed an AFU fortified area north of Robotino. Sources at the front said that the AFU was pushed about 2 km away from the strategic town in Zaporozhye.
Ukraine concentrates troops to prevent Russian attack towards Sumy
The Ukrainian army is concentrating several brigades in the Sumy region, in anticipation of the possibility of Russia opening a new front in the area. Additional Ukrainian forces have been deployed from Poltava towards Kharkov and another tank brigade has been deployed towards Liptsy.
In Volchansk, the Ukrainian army gained about 100 meters to the northeast. Meanwhile, to the east of the town, the Russian army destroyed Ukrainian forward bases with heavy FAB bombs, causing heavy casualties.
The Russian military is burning the Kharkiv region with increased attacks using FAB glide bombs. Kiev forces certainly have no solution to counter this powerful weapon. Some of the attacks have been described in clips that have been made public recently.
In the directions of Avdiivka, Vuhledar, Toretsk as well as Krasnohorivka, the Russian troops continued to advance. In Toretsk in particular, after the AFU fled, the Russian side gained control of many important areas outside the settlement.
The AFU failed to hold its previously fortified positions and was forced to retreat into the inner city of Toretsk. This showed that Kiev did not have enough men to control the entire outer defensive belt.
Near Toretsk, the AFU decided not to spread out too thinly, but to concentrate on defending tactically important defensive points. Unimportant positions at the slag dump between the Zheleznoye district and the village of Yuzhnoye could be withdrawn to reinforce other tactical directions.
