In 2008, after 5 years of construction, the 3 generating units of the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant officially began operation, supplying 342 MW of power to the national grid (the 5th largest in the North). Beyond its energy significance, the project also created a hydroelectric reservoir covering over 8,000 hectares, along with 99 towering rocky mountains in the middle of the lake, forming Na Hang Lake – a natural landscape that is both majestic, pristine, and poetic.

Na Hang (or Na Hang), meaning "the last rice field" in the Tay language, is the confluence of the Gam and Nang rivers within the hydroelectric reservoir.

Blessed by nature, Na Hang is beautiful all year round, but during the dry season, it takes on a different, wild, and fascinating appearance. The lake reveals red soil islets, barren rocky beaches, and brown sedimentary deposits winding like the fingerprints of time amidst the vast forest. The space becomes quiet and peaceful, evoking the feeling of a serene ink painting.
