On July 13, IIG VietnamEducation Organization - the national representative of the Educational Testing Service (ETS) of the United States - held the Closing and Award Ceremony of the TOEFL Challenge English Contest for the 2024-2025 school year to honor outstanding individuals and groups.
The ceremony honored and awarded 32 outstanding candidates at the Primary and Secondary levels who won national prizes; along with First, Second, Third, Equal and Encouragement prizes for candidates with high achievements at the provincial and city level rounds.

Notably, among the 4 candidates who won first prize at the national level, there were 2 primary school candidates who achieved perfect scores on the TOEFL Junior test, with 900/900 points.
Specifically: Do Thai Hung, student of class 2A1, Trung Trac Primary School ( Hanoi ), first prize in grade 2-3 of the TOEFL Primary Challenge (scored 900/900 points on the TOEFL Junior international test), and Kieu Duc Thinh, student of class 4E, Gia Cam Primary School (Phu Tho), first prize in grade 4-5 of the TOEFL Primary Challenge (scored 900/900 points on the TOEFL Junior international test).

The two winners of the First Prize at the Secondary School level are: Nguyen Ha Bao Trang, a student of class 7B2, Vinschool Times City Secondary and High School T37 (Hanoi), First Prize in the 6th - 7th grade category of the TOEFL Junior Challenge (scoring 670/677 points on the TOEFL ITP international test), and Bui Ha Phuong, a student of class 8A3, Hoang Mai Secondary School (Hanoi), First Prize in the 8th - 9th grade category of the TOEFL Junior Challenge (scoring 667/677 points on the TOEFL ITP international test).
According to information from the Organizing Committee, the 2024-2025 season has a large number of contestants from more than 1,751 primary schools and 1,034 secondary schools in 11 provinces and cities nationwide. In particular, the TOEFL Primary Challenge is for primary school students (grades 2-5); the TOEFL Junior Challenge is for secondary school students (grades 6-9).
At the provincial and municipal rounds, the Organizing Committee's statistics recorded outstanding achievements of candidates at both primary and secondary school levels. For primary school candidates, 94.41% of candidates achieved level A1 or higher in reading comprehension, and 87.91% of candidates achieved level A1 or higher in listening comprehension according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
At secondary school level, 97.75% of candidates achieved level A2 or higher in Grammar and Vocabulary. 94.38% of candidates achieved level A2 or higher in Listening. 88.13% of candidates achieved level A2 or higher in Reading according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
At the National Finals, the results of the candidates showed that the young generation of Vietnam possesses an extremely excellent international standard of language proficiency. With the TOEFL ITP test for secondary school students, 100% of the participating students achieved level B1 or higher in Reading Comprehension. 99.06% of the students achieved level B1 or higher in Listening Comprehension, Structure and Expression, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
With the TOEFL Junior test for primary school students, 100% of participating students achieved level A2 or higher in 2 skills: Listening comprehension; Grammar and Vocabulary skills, 99.46% of students achieved level A2 or higher in Reading comprehension according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Over 13 seasons, the TOEFL Challenge journey has been an effort to bring Vietnamese students the opportunity to access international standard English proficiency assessment measures from the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
