Improving the lives of families of people with revolutionary contributions

DTO - Demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", in recent times, the People's Committee of Hong Ngu City has directed all levels and sectors to pay attention to and do a good job of caring for people with revolutionary contributions in the area. Accordingly, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (LDTB&XH), People's Committees of communes and wards coordinate to promptly and fully resolve preferential regimes and policies, regularly visit and give gifts on holidays and Tet... contributing to improving the lives of families with revolutionary contributions.

In Hong Ngu City, there are 1,141 people with revolutionary contributions, of which 395 people are receiving monthly allowances according to regulations. Recognizing the importance of taking care of policies for families of people with revolutionary contributions, Hong Ngu City People's Committee directed the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, People's Committees of communes and wards to focus on synchronously implementing social security policies and supporting people with revolutionary contributions to stabilize their lives. Accordingly, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hong Ngu City effectively implemented the payment of monthly allowances to people with revolutionary contributions and their relatives; regularly paid emergency allowances to policy beneficiaries facing difficulties and illnesses in accordance with regulations.

Every year, on the occasion of holidays and Tet, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs advises the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Hong Ngu City to organize activities to visit and give gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids and sick soldiers. In addition, it coordinates to deploy and effectively maintain the "Repaying gratitude" movements such as: mobilizing contributions to the Gratitude Fund; building and donating gratitude houses; receiving and caring for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers... Promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", the management and implementation of preferential policies and care for people with meritorious services in communes and wards are well implemented. Every year, the People's Committees of communes and wards issue plans to advise the Party Committee and coordinate with the Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations at the same level to implement preferential policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution. In addition to the regimes prescribed by the State, the People's Committees of communes and wards mobilize donors to give gifts, health insurance cards, and housing support to policy families in difficult circumstances.

From 2023 to present, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hong Ngu City has coordinated with sectors and People's Committees of communes and wards to fully pay regular allowances to 395/395 policy beneficiaries, with an amount of more than 10 billion VND; spent more than 820 million VND to subsidize 475 cases of martyr worship; supported funeral expenses for 41 cases, with an amount of over 630 million VND. In addition, the organization gave gifts on the occasion of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27, to 3,281 people with meritorious services, with a cost of more than 1.4 billion VND; sent 24 people with meritorious services to recuperate in the provinces and cities of Da Nang, Lam Dong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Kien Giang . Along with that, completed the construction and handed over 23 gratitude houses to families of people with meritorious services, with a cost of over 1 billion VND from the source of support from Dong Thap Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. Particularly on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hong Ngu City organized delegations to visit, celebrate Tet, and present 1,937 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, war invalids, sick soldiers, veteran revolutionary cadres, and heroic Vietnamese mothers... with a cost of more than 784 million VND.

Mr. Ngo Hoang Vu - Deputy Head of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hong Ngu City, said: "The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs continues to advise the People's Committee of Hong Ngu City to direct the effective implementation of the work of "Repaying gratitude" to people with revolutionary contributions in the area. In particular, focusing on fully and promptly implementing the regimes and policies according to the Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Revolutionary Contributions, Decree No. 131/2021/ND-CP of the Government and guiding documents of ministries and central branches. Along with that, strengthen propaganda and mobilize organizations, individuals and communities to participate in activities to care for the lives, support social security, housing for families of people with revolutionary contributions, people with revolutionary contributions in difficult circumstances, the elderly, and the lonely".
