DTO - On June 3, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Tan Buu chaired a conference to summarize 15 years of implementing the Law on Lawyers. Representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors, the Executive Board of the Bar Association and lawyers working at law practice organizations attended.

In recent times, the practice of lawyers has changed. Lawyers and law practice organizations have well implemented the assignment of the Executive Board of the Bar Association in participating in cases requested by the prosecution agency; providing legal aid, participating in legal advice, disseminating legaleducation to the people, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of individuals and organizations.
The Provincial Bar Association has performed well its self-management role for law practice organizations, always paying attention to the quality of the internship of law practice trainees at the practice organizations. In 2007, the Provincial Bar Association had 15 members, now there are 102 lawyers; the number of law practice organizations has increased from 12 to 37 organizations.
Lawyers participate in giving opinions on organizational and union work
Free legal aid activities and those in accordance with the law are actively carried out by law practice organizations, thereby helping the poor, those with revolutionary contributions, those who suffer from domestic violence, etc. have the conditions to protect their legitimate rights. In addition, law practice organizations also carry out social work to provide material support to the poor, those who are subject to social policies, and implement scholarship programs for poor students and those in difficult circumstances.
Over the past 15 years, law practice organizations in the province have received and implemented over 25,500 legal service cases of all kinds; total revenue is nearly 38 billion VND. Every year, the number of cases in which lawyers participate in litigation, legal advice and other legal services increases in quantity and form of participation. Lawyers participating from the investigation stage to the trial stage has facilitated the defense and improved the quality of defense, lawyers have shown high responsibility when assigned to participate...
In addition, the activities of the team of lawyers and organizations practicing law still have limitations such as: the rate of lawyers participating in litigation in criminal cases and civil and business disputes is still low; the quality of lawyers' practice sometimes does not meet practical requirements; the scale of organizations practicing law is still small and lacks connectivity...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Tan Buu praised the achievements of the team of lawyers, and at the same time requested the Department of Justice and the Executive Board of the Bar Association to strengthen regular and unscheduled inspections and checks to promptly detect and handle violations in the practice of law; perform well the role, functions and tasks of state management of law and the practice of law; continue to promote and improve the effectiveness of the team of lawyers, aiming to protect the rights and legitimate interests of individuals and organizations, contributing to the socio -economic development of the province.
Individuals with outstanding achievements in the implementation of the Law on Lawyers received certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee.
On this occasion, organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the Law on Lawyers were awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee.
