Improve skills for tour guides

On the morning of October 13, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh organized a training conference on tour guide skills for staff working as tour guides at destinations, relics, museums and service businesses in the province.

150 delegates working as tour guides attended the training session.

In recent years, Ha Tinh tourism has had positive developments, gradually affirming its role as one of the important economic sectors of the province. Along with the attention and direction of all levels and sectors, the participation of the business community and the people, the appearance of tourism in the province has improved a lot.

However, for tourism to truly become a key economic sector, investment in developing high-quality human resources is an urgent and long-term strategic requirement. In particular, the team of tour guides holds a particularly important position, being the force directly connecting tourists with the culture, history, landscape and people of Ha Tinh. They are the direct companions in the journey of discovery of tourists, and are a cultural bridge, representing the quality of service and the image of local tourism.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Cong Thanh delivered the opening speech at the conference.

At the training session, delegates were exposed to a knowledge system including: an overview of the tourism industry, related legal regulations; guidance, communication - behavior - explanation skills, tourist psychology, guidance procedures at tourist attractions and skills to handle real-life situations, especially at museums and cultural, historical and religious attractions.

Master Vo Van Anh, Vice President of Vietnam Tour Guide Association, Vice President of Da Nang Tourism Association, President of Da Nang Tour Guide Association, lecturer of FPT Polytechnic College, discussed at the training session.

Through the training session, we contribute to fostering and updating knowledge and professional skills for the staff working as tour guides.

Improve behavioral skills, communication, and situation handling in tour guiding activities, aiming at national tourism professional standards. Contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of state management of tour guide activities at the site, ensuring service quality, thereby aiming to build a professional, civilized, friendly and attractive image of Ha Tinh tourism in the eyes of domestic and foreign tourists.
