“When the community is in trouble, businesses cannot stand aside”
This year, Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day coincides with the time when the whole province is focusing on overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10. Despite being heavily affected by the storm, however, promoting their responsibility to the community, many businesses have mobilized resources to support the province to overcome the damage. Up to this point, the Ha Tinh Provincial Relief Fund has received support from more than 30 businesses in the area with a total amount of tens of billions of VND.
Among the enterprises joining hands to support the province to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10, Mitraco Ha Tinh (Thanh Sen ward) contributed 200 million VND to the province's Relief Fund. It is valuable that the enterprise has overcome its own difficulties when suffering tens of billions of VND in damage caused by the storm to share in a timely manner, demonstrating a deep spirit of mutual love with the community.
Mr. Le Viet Thao - General Director of Mitraco Ha Tinh shared: "The recent storm has caused serious damage to the units under the corporation, especially in the production areas. However, we always believe that when the community is in trouble, businesses cannot stand aside."
Together with large enterprises, young entrepreneurs through the connection of the Ha Tinh Young Entrepreneurs Association have mobilized more than 400 million VND to support the repair and restoration of houses for many families damaged after storm No. 10.
To implement social security activities, the association has recently established a Charity Committee to mobilize resources for maximum efficiency. Since then, the association has started construction of many charity houses and accompanied many local volunteer activities.
Ms. Ha Thi Viet Anh - Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Tinh province said: "Not only donating to support storm No. 10, in recent times, during the times when the province suffered heavy losses due to natural disasters and epidemics, the business community in the area has made many contributions both materially and spiritually. In addition, businesses also actively participate in humanitarian and charitable activities such as: supporting students with high scores and those in especially difficult circumstances to go to university; building solidarity houses for the poor and policy families; visiting and giving gifts to families in difficult circumstances, creating jobs for many unfortunate workers; supporting localities in building new rural areas...".
"Coverage" of charity activities
Among the enterprises actively pioneering in social security work, Hung Nghiep Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Company Limited (Vung Ang Ward) is always mentioned as a typical example. Since its establishment, the company has spent more than 168.7 billion VND on social security activities in the locality.
To deepen support activities, from 2021 to now, Formosa Ha Tinh has established the Minh Duc Fund to implement many educational sponsorship projects for students in the area. To date, the total budget for implementing educational sponsorship projects of the fund is about 32.5 billion VND.
Sharing the view that business activities are associated with social responsibility, in 2025, Petrolimex Ha Tinh One Member Co., Ltd. (Thanh Sen Ward) allocated about 9 billion VND for social security activities, including supporting Huong Son Medical Center with 11 artificial kidney dialysis machines with a total value of 5 billion VND; supporting the Provincial Relief Fund with 3 billion VND to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10...
Mr. Truong Doan Duc - Deputy Director of Petrolimex Ha Tinh Company Limited shared: "This is the year the unit mobilized resources to implement the most social security activities ever. To achieve the above results, the company took advantage of the support channel from the Vietnam National Petroleum Group. Along with that, we built a welfare fund, annually allocating a portion of profits from production and business activities to implement charity activities. Enterprises always identify that fulfilling their social responsibilities is the key to sustainable development."
In the system of banks "located" in the area, BIDV Ha Tinh is one of the pioneering units accompanying the province to take care of social security activities.
In the first 9 months of 2025, BIDV Ha Tinh has spent more than 8.6 billion VND to support Ha Tinh in implementing activities such as: eliminating temporary houses, dilapidated houses; donating school equipment; supporting orphaned students, disabled children; supporting storm and flood damage...
Le Thi Thao from Cam Xuyen commune - a second-year student at Da Nang University of Education emotionally said: "I am an orphan, my mother has a serious mental illness, so my family's situation is extremely difficult. Since passing the university entrance exam, I have been supported by BIDV Ha Tinh with 1 million VND per month. This is a resource to help me have more money to cover my studies and continue my dream of becoming a primary school teacher in the future."
According to the Ha Tinh Provincial Business Association, in the period of 2020-2025, the business community and entrepreneurs have contributed tens of billions of VND in cash and in kind to social security, humanitarian work, and new rural construction in the area. Of which, the resources mobilized through the channel of the Ha Tinh Provincial Business Association alone reached more than 36 billion VND. The social security, humanitarian and charitable activities of the business community have brought about changes in many lives and significantly improved the facilities and infrastructure in disadvantaged areas and areas heavily damaged by natural disasters.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Trinh - General Secretary, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Business Association emphasized: “Accompanying the government and people is not only a responsibility but also the wish of many businessmen. Volunteer activities not only bring a good image to businesses but also a measure of business culture - a core element in sustainable development. When businesses put the community at the center, they will receive trust and love from the people - something that cannot be measured by money”.
For businesses, each social security activity is considered a "long-term investment". A poor student supported today will become a good citizen in the future. A patient saved will have a new life full of love and trust. Each house of gratitude built not only helps a family settle down, but also contributes to a prosperous community. Therefore, the journey of "sowing seeds of goodness" has been widely spread by the business community and businessmen of Ha Tinh; contributing to lighting up trust and building a humane and sustainable Ha Tinh.
