Mountainous commune of Huong Do exceeds poverty reduction target

Huong Do Commune has just completed the review of poor households, near-poor households; households working in agriculture , forestry, fishery and salt production with average living standards; and low-income workers by 2025.

Huong Do Commune has just completed the review of poor and near-poor households.

Accordingly, the whole commune currently has 3,909 households. Of which, 251 households are included in the list of poor and near-poor households in 2025, including: 97 poor households and 139 near-poor households in 2024; 19 households are additionally reviewed according to people's requests.

Currently, Huong Do has 75 poor households and 118 near-poor households.

Through review and assessment, Huong Do commune currently has 75 poor households, accounting for 1.9% of the total number of households. Of which, there are 2 newly added poor households. The whole commune has 118 near-poor households, accounting for 3.1%. Of which, there are 22 newly added near-poor households.

It is recorded that 24 households have escaped poverty and 43 households have escaped near-poverty. Compared to 2024, the rate of poor households decreased by 0.67%; near-poor households decreased by 0.61%, reaching the target assigned by the province (decreased by 0.5% or more).

With many practical and effective methods, the poverty rate in Huong Do decreased by 0.67%; near-poor households decreased by 0.61% compared to 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Huong Do Commune said: "Members of the investigation and review teams directly went to each household and individual subject to the review of poor and near-poor households to collect information, verify income and the level of basic social service shortages according to the correct form and instructions. The investigation and review process was carried out objectively, publicly, transparently, and under the supervision of the front working committee, village chiefs, organizations and community representatives. The results of the investigation were held in public meetings to gather consensus in 26/26 villages in the commune, ensuring compliance with regulations and honestly reflecting the actual situation of each household.
