The 2025-2026 winter-spring crop season took place under complex weather conditions, but thanks to the timely guidance of the local government and the proactive efforts of the people, the agricultural sector of Thang An commune achieved positive results.
The total area planted with grain crops in the commune reached 868 hectares, including 832.5 hectares of rice, with an estimated average yield of 64.2 quintals/hectare. In addition, during this season, farmers in Thang An utilized all available irrigated land for cultivation, resulting in 935 hectares of various crops with a total production of over 5,600 tons.
Building on the achievements, the conference implemented the production plan for the 2026 summer-autumn crop with the goal of focusing on simultaneous sowing from May 20th to May 25th with varieties having a growth period of 95-105 days; and sowing from May 25th to June 5th with varieties having a growth period of less than 95 days.
Due to the unique characteristics of the commune located at the end of the canal, making it difficult to proactively secure irrigation water, Thang An commune plans to cultivate approximately 685 hectares of rice during the summer-autumn crop season. The locality prioritizes short-day, drought-tolerant rice varieties, while also proactively dredging canals, regulating water efficiently, and strengthening disease prevention and control from the beginning of the season to aim for a successful harvest.
