Enhancing cooperation with embassies and international organizations in Vietnam

On the occasion of Christmas and New Year 2024, with the consent of the provincial leaders, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ha Tinh province coordinated with agencies, units and localities to congratulate embassies of countries, international organizations and foreign non-governmental organizations in Vietnam.

Ha Tinh delegation congratulated the Lao Embassy in Vietnam on National Day and New Year.

On behalf of the delegation, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Thai Phuc Son visited and wished Merry Christmas and New Year to the embassies of the United States, Laos, Singapore, Slovakia; the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Director of the French Development Agency (AFD).

Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Thai Phuc Son expressed his thanks to the embassies and international organizations that have always accompanied Ha Tinh in the development process, and expressed his joy at the increasingly consolidated and developed cooperative relationship between Vietnam and other countries in general, and between Ha Tinh and embassies and international organizations in particular. This is a good opportunity for Ha Tinh to strengthen and promote cooperation in the coming time.

At the working sessions, the delegation briefly informed about the socio -economic development situation, potentials, advantages, and preferential policies to attract investment in Ha Tinh province.

Ha Tinh, from a poor agricultural province, has risen to the top of the North Central region, ranking 15th in the country in terms of growth rate, reaching 8.05% in 2023. Currently, the province has two national key economic zones: Vung Ang Economic Zone, Cau Treo International Border Gate Economic Zone; 25 industrial zones and clusters; Vung Ang - Son Duong deep-water port cluster with 59 wharves approved by the Prime Minister for planning, one of three international maritime trade hubs of Vietnam designed for ships with a capacity of up to 200,000 - 300,000 tons.

The delegation congratulated the Ambassador of Slovakia.

In particular, Ha Tinh is the second province in the country to have its Provincial Planning approved by the Prime Minister for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. At the conference announcing the Provincial Planning, decisions approving investment policies were granted to 14 investors with 15 projects, with a total registered capital of over VND 9,600 billion; investment cooperation memorandums were granted to 25 investors, with a total registered investment capital of over VND 219,000 billion.

Up to now, Ha Tinh has 1,480 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of 140,000 billion VND and 71 FDI projects with a total registered capital of 16.1 billion USD. Some large-scale FDI projects include: Formosa Group's Steel Complex and Son Duong Port; Vung Ang II Thermal Power Project; VINES Vung Ang Battery Factory (4 trillion VND); Lithium Battery Factory (6,300 billion VND); Hanoi - Nghe Tinh Beer Factory (1,230 billion VND, capacity of 100 million liters/year).

The delegation congratulated the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Ha Tinh province highly appreciates the attention and support of diplomatic agencies and international organizations, and hopes that in the coming time, partners will continue to pay attention and support so that programs and projects can be most effectively promoted.

From there, act as a bridge, introduce foreign enterprises to learn, survey, and invest in the province, especially in the fields of industry, seaports; training, trade, agriculture, climate change, renewable energy, waste treatment, medical equipment, new technology transfer, and urban infrastructure.

Ha Tinh province always welcomes and commits to creating the best conditions and fastest administrative procedure settlement for foreign investors and enterprises to invest in Ha Tinh.

Welcoming the Ha Tinh delegation, ambassadors and heads of international organizations in Vietnam expressed their joy and gratitude to the provincial leaders for their attention and sending the delegation to celebrate Christmas and New Year 2024; as well as the attention and facilitation of provincial leaders and departments, branches, units and localities for investors and enterprises from other countries to smoothly implement programs and projects; production and business activities in the area.

Through the Department of Foreign Affairs, representatives of international agencies and organizations congratulated the achievements that Ha Tinh province has achieved in recent times; affirmed that they will continue to pay attention to and accompany Ha Tinh province, ready to support and connect with the province in the process of socio-economic development, especially coordinating to speed up the progress of projects implemented by enterprises and investors of other countries in the area. International agencies and organizations will soon organize working delegations with foreign enterprises to visit, work and survey investment in Ha Tinh.

The partners hope to continue to receive attention in the coming time so that the programs and projects of the countries implemented in the area achieve the best results.
