The north-east club are in the final stages of detailed negotiations, following a frantic race to secure the transfer of Nick Woltemade.

British press sources confirmed that the 23-year-old striker has agreed personal terms with Newcastle.

The Magpies will pay a club record £69m, including £65m upfront and £4m in add-ons.
