According to AVP, on the night of January 7, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a high-precision attack on the military airport of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Kirovograd region.
Local residents reportedly heard a loud explosion and the night sky lit up. The airstrike damaged the airport's infrastructure and the administrative building also suffered significant damage.
To date, exact information about the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in terms of equipment and personnel as a result of this attack has not been disclosed.
Recently, the Russian Armed Forces have intensified their attacks on important military facilities in Ukraine. Earlier, there were reports of missile attacks on military airfields in Starokonstantinov and Mirgorod. These are the airfields used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to launch attacks on Russian territory.
Also on January 7, SF reported on the war situation in the Zaporozhie region. Accordingly, after the Russian attacks, the Ukrainian army lost the initiative and fell into a defensive position on most fronts, including the Zaporozhie region. After the battles, many military equipment were left behind by the Ukrainian army.
A village in Rabotino that was under Ukrainian control months ago is now in the grey zone, which is now the main direction of Russian advances in the Zaporozhye region.
Russian reconnaissance cameras filmed the outskirts of the Rabotino settlement. The footage released shows dozens of destroyed tanks and armored vehicles abandoned by Ukrainian forces. This is just a small fraction of the Ukrainian military hardware left on the battlefield.
In the last days of 2023, Russian troops advanced several kilometers on a wide front. They managed to push forward to the south and east of Rabotino and push the Ukrainian Armed Forces back from the areas west of Verbovoe.
Faced with heavy Russian attacks, Ukrainian forces were forced to abandon their positions in Rabotino and are retreating north, equipping their defenses.
