On June 10, the head of the Crimean government, Sergey Aksyonov, said that air defense forces shot down two Ukrainian Grom-2 ballistic missiles in the sky over Crimea.
"Russian air defense forces shot down two ballistic missiles flying over Crimea this morning, fired by Ukrainian Grom-2 missile systems. No one was killed or injured in the attack," said Sergey Aksyonov, head of the Crimean government.

The last time Crimea was attacked by Grom-2 missiles was on May 6. At that time, Oleg Kryuchkov, an advisor to the Crimean government, announced that the peninsula's air defense forces had also shot down two ballistic missiles launched by Ukraine using the Grom-2 tactical missile system.
In April, Crimean authorities also said they had prevented a similar raid in the town of Feodosiya in the east of the peninsula.
Grom-2 is a ballistic missile produced by Ukraine, with a range of 300 km, but can be extended to 500 km, equivalent to the Russian Iskander missile. The Grom-2's warhead weighs 480 kg, including a fragmentation or concrete-piercing warhead.
Russia has recently recorded several drone attacks on infrastructure in the Crimean peninsula. Russian officials have accused the Ukrainian military of being behind the attacks, but Kiev has largely denied this.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has been going on for more than a year and has no end in sight. The two sides have been carrying out retaliations against each other recently.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently announced that Ukraine's counteroffensive has begun. According to him, the deployment of Kiev's strategic reserves is a sign that the operation has begun.
The Russian president stressed that fierce fighting had been going on for the past five days and that the Russian military was trying to hold its positions. Mr Putin said that Kiev still maintained its offensive capabilities and expected Russian commanders to “realistically assess the situation ” and act accordingly.
