Spreading good deeds
Recognizing that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style is a central and continuous task, the political system of Can Tho City has integrated this content with Party building and the implementation of political tasks at agencies, units, and localities. Through the implementation of Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW, the awareness and actions of cadres, Party members, and the people of the city have undergone a strong transformation. Many creative and effective models have been implemented, contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and simultaneously consolidating national unity and building a clean and strong Party. From the spirit of learning to following, emulation movements linked to professional tasks have spread widely among all strata of the people.

The Youth Union and Children's Council of Cai Khe ward recently collaborated with the Vo Truong Toan Primary School's Children's Union to organize the 7th "Children's Day for Environmental Protection" in 2026, with the theme "Cai Khe Youth Learning and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh ." Receiving a brand-new water bottle, Nguyen Tran An Nhien, a student in class 1A6, excitedly shared: "I collected used paper and plastic bottles and exchanged them for a water bottle. I think this program is great; my friends and I are protecting the environment while receiving our favorite gifts." This is one of many actions taken by the Cai Khe ward Youth Union to promote and encourage its members, young people, and students to follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings.
According to Lai Phuoc Truong Thanh, Secretary of the Cai Khe Ward Youth Union: Through studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, from 2022 to 2027, the ward's youth union members, students, and young people have carried out over 150 practical youth projects and activities: environmental sanitation, clearing waterways, planting trees, removing illegal advertisements, etc., with a total value of over 1.6 billion VND benefiting the community. Besides participating in environmental protection and urban landscape development, the Ward Youth Union also organized a "Digital Literacy Team" to assist people with administrative procedures; and a "Zero-Cost Charity Shop" to give gifts and scholarships to students. Coordinating the organization of the "Voluntary Blood Donation" program, the "Warm Kitchen" model providing free meals to patients undergoing treatment at the hospital... In 2025, the Cai Khe Ward Youth Union will be a model collective in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh in the Southern region, and will be commended by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.
The Party cell of Area 1, Hung Phu Ward, is one of the exemplary models in building initiatives following President Ho Chi Minh's example. According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Le, Secretary of the Party cell and Head of Area 1, the Party Committee leads cadres and Party members in the area to integrate the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style with the implementation of the area's political tasks. Through this study, cadres and Party members in the area have followed President Ho Chi Minh's example through practical actions that benefit the people. For example, in 2025, cadres and Party members in the area mobilized over 200 million VND and many days of labor to upgrade bridges and roads, build drainage systems; construct and repair four houses for residents; and mobilize rice and essential goods worth over 100 million VND to donate to families in difficult circumstances…
“Uncle Ho taught, ‘Even the easiest task is impossible without the people's support. Even the most difficult task can be accomplished with the people's participation.’ Following Uncle Ho's example, in mobilizing resources for projects and tasks in the area, we keep detailed records. In community meetings, we openly disclose every income and expenditure item so that cadres, Party members, and the people are aware, have confidence, and thus work together in implementing the projects,” shared Mr. Nguyen Huu Le. Commenting on the approach of the local officials, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung from Area 1 said: “The local officials openly disclose all contributions, and the people trust and support them. I not only contribute money but also arrange my family affairs to participate in building bridges and upgrading roads… Everyone contributing their efforts will build a more civilized residential area.”
Many exemplary individuals
Through studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, more and more exemplary individuals have emerged, making significant contributions to the sustainable development of the locality and the city. Ms. Nguyen Phi Nhan, Party Branch Secretary and Head of Area 3, Ninh Kieu Ward, is an exemplary individual with outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style during the period 2016-2025, and was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the People's Committee of Can Tho City. In 2025, Ms. Nhan was commended by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee as one of 95 outstanding Party branch secretaries and Party members at the city level.

During her 12 years of service in the area, Ms. Nguyen Phi Nhan has always worked closely with officials, Party members, and the people to carry out tasks. Together with officials and Party members, Ms. Nhan mobilized the people to upgrade 100 flagpoles, build 4 security gates; install new and repair/upgrade 14 security cameras; establish 4 public fire stations and 5 neighborhood fire prevention and control groups; provide rice to elderly people living alone and those in difficult circumstances; and donate gifts to poor and near-poor households... Ms. Nguyen Thi Guong, 76 years old, a resident of the area, emotionally expressed: “My family’s life is very difficult. I am very happy to receive care and attention from the local officials, who regularly donate rice and essential goods.”
Veteran Duong Huu Chi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch, Head of the Front Committee, and Chairman of the Farmers' Association in Thoi Trung hamlet, Co Do commune, has been involved in hamlet work since 2005. Mr. Chi has been recognized as an outstanding Party member for five consecutive years. Deeply moved by President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that anything beneficial to the people and the country must be done with utmost effort, Mr. Chi proactively coordinated with cadres and Party members to mobilize the people to donate land for the State to invest in paving and expanding the western bank of the Ngang canal from 2m to 4m; he also mobilized people to contribute over 68 million VND to install streetlights and flagpoles along the western bank of the Ngang canal; and he mobilized over 6 million VND to install four security cameras at the entrance and exit of the hamlet…
In his role and responsibilities, Mr. Chi coordinated with commune and hamlet officials to introduce people to preferential loans of over 6 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank to develop family economies; each year he mobilizes about 150 portions of rice and essential goods to support near-poor and disadvantaged households. From 2020 to the present, he has coordinated with officials at all levels to mobilize the construction and repair of 7 houses for people in need of housing; established a rice farming cooperative to enable farmers to jointly produce high-quality rice; established a net weaving cooperative and a plastic chair weaving cooperative, helping people find jobs and improve their income… Currently, Thoi Trung hamlet no longer has any poor households. The Thoi Trung hamlet Party branch has excellently completed its tasks in 2025.
