2025 is the first year that the Ministry of Education and Training organizes the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program (new program), but there are still candidates taking the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program (old program). Therefore, each exam subject has 2 sets of questions for these 2 candidates. Candidates taking the old program will take the exam at a centralized testing site located at Au Co Secondary School (Nha Trang City).

Current issues are included in the Literature exam.
Literature is the only subject tested in essay format, with a test time of 120 minutes. The Literature exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program is considered to be good, consistent, and consistent on the topic of homeland and country, with a reasonable level of differentiation. The reading comprehension section (4 points) uses materials outside of textbooks, is humanistic, and evokes emotional sources. The writing section includes a social argumentation question (2 points) and a literary argumentation question (4 points). In particular, the social argumentation question on the topic "Every homeland's sky is the Fatherland's sky" is considered by many opinions to be good, profound, and topical, suitable for the context of the country's current great changes. From this exam, students have the opportunity to develop their thinking, critical thinking, and connection to real life. Vu Thi Ngoc Mai - a student at Nguyen Van Troi High School (Nha Trang) said: "I think the first 3 questions are in the form of recognizing basic knowledge, most students can do it. Questions 4 and 5 are quite difficult for me, especially question 5 asking about the similarity in meaning of 2 passages of text. The last question (social argumentation) is an open-ended question, requiring high application of test-taking skills and practical knowledge."

Meanwhile, the Literature exam according to the old program has the same structure and way of asking questions as in previous years. The 5-point question of the writing section requires analyzing the development of the mood of the character Mi in the work Husband and Wife A Phu by writer To Hoai, requiring students to demonstrate their ability to appreciate literature and analytical thinking.
Math questions require practical application
For Math (multiple choice test, 90 minutes), many candidates assessed that the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program had about 2/3 of the knowledge at the basic level, some strange and quite difficult questions, and a high level of classification. The new point compared to last year is that the exam has many types of questions such as choosing the correct answer, true/false, short answer; at the same time, it requires applying knowledge to solve more practical problems. Le Khanh Vy - a student at Ly Tu Trong High School (Nha Trang) said: "I registered for a university major in block C00, so I didn't focus too much on Math. I found the exam relatively suitable, with many questions related to reality. I think I got about 6 or 7 points."

Meanwhile, the Math exam according to the 2006 General Education Program has a similar structure to every year, with a moderate level and differentiation of abilities. Dr. Huynh Viet Hoang - a student at Nha Trang University said: "I graduated from high school last year, this year I changed direction, wanting to study at Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, so I registered for the Math, Chemistry, and Biology exams for admission. I did relatively well on the test, scoring over 7 points."

According to the exam schedule, today (June 27), candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program will take the final exam, which is an optional exam, including 2 subjects from the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Industrial Technology, Agricultural Technology, Foreign Language. Candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program will take the Foreign Language exam and a combination exam (Natural Science or Social Science).
According to the Department of Education and Training, for the Literature subject, the whole province had 14,606 candidates taking the exam out of a total of 14,674 registered candidates (68 candidates were absent). Of which, the 2018 General Education Program had 14,431 candidates taking the exam out of a total of 14,484 registered candidates (53 candidates were absent); the 2006 General Education Program had 175 candidates taking the exam out of a total of 190 registered candidates (15 candidates were absent).
In Mathematics, 14,565 students took the exam out of a total of 14,637 registered students (72 students were absent). Of which, the 2018 General Education Program had 14,430 students taking the exam out of a total of 14,488 registered students (58 students were absent); the 2006 General Education Program had 135 students taking the exam out of a total of 149 registered students (14 students were absent).
The first day of the exam took place seriously and safely, with no cases of candidates or supervisors violating the regulations.
