Ministry of Education explains the difficulty of the 2025 high school graduation exam

(Quang Ngai Newspaper) - On the afternoon of June 27, after finishing the final exam of the 2025 high school graduation exam, the Ministry of Education and Training held a press conference to provide information about the exam.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong chaired the press conference.

After the Math and English exams, many candidates were "shocked" because the exam questions were much more difficult than the sample questions that the Ministry announced at the end of last year. A representative of the National Steering Committee for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam said that the difficulty of the exam questions was discussed and thoroughly understood by the National Steering Committee before the exam preparation took place. To do this, the Ministry issued the structure, format, and reference questions for the high school graduation exam to help students get used to the structure and teachers have a direction for their review. The Ministry also organized a large-scale test in all three regions, thereby assessing students' ability to respond, in order to make appropriate adjustments.

Deputy Minister ofEducation and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong affirmed that he will accept comments on the exam to do better in the following years, on the principle of ensuring the rights of candidates. The Ministry's leaders said that the exam assesses the real abilities of candidates in accordance with the spirit of fundamental innovation in education and training, the new general education program. From today (June 28), localities will begin the exam marking process. High school graduation exam scores will be announced on July 16. Candidates can register and adjust their university admission wishes until 5:00 p.m. on July 28.
