The 500 kV Ha Tinh substation (located in Thach Xuan commune) plays a particularly important role in the national power system. The high electricity demand during the Tet holiday season requires Ha Tinh Power Transmission officials and engineers to closely monitor every technical parameter on the equipment, ensuring the absolute safety of the power grid.

The substation operates 24/7 with 3 shifts and 5 teams per day. For all operations on the power grid, from load monitoring and equipment inspection to handling abnormal situations, the engineering team strictly adheres to technical procedures and dispatch orders.

Even a single abnormal heat point on the equipment can pose a potential risk of power grid failure. Therefore, we cannot afford to be complacent, especially during the period leading up to Tet – a time when electricity demand increases significantly, ” shared engineer Nguyen Manh Hung.

Having worked thousands of shifts and mastering every detail of the power lines and transformers, engineer Hung and his colleagues still begin each shift with the highest level of readiness. Their goal is to ensure the power grid operates with the highest possible availability, preventing any interruptions.

As the main operator at the Ha Tinh 500 kV Substation, engineer Hoang Nguyen Thuan (born in 1975) is responsible for making decisions and handling situations arising during his shift, while also coordinating closely with A0 and A1 dispatchers and the duty officer of Power Transmission Company 1 when necessary. Especially with the commissioning of the 500 kV circuit 3 Quang Trach – Pho Noi transmission line, the workload has increased significantly, requiring even greater concentration and a higher sense of responsibility than ever before.

In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the leaders of Ha Tinh Power Transmission Company regularly visited the grassroots level, inspected substations, encouraged workers, and directly supervised power grid operation plans before, during, and after Tet. This timely attention further motivated the engineering team to stand firm on the front lines and successfully complete their tasks during this special period.

Mr. Dinh Van Thai – Deputy Head of Ha Tinh Power Transmission Company, said: " The unit is currently managing and operating two 500 kV substations in Ha Tinh and Vung Ang, one 220 kV substation in Vung Ang; a large-scale transmission line system with a total length of 612 km of 500 kV lines and 412.1 km of 220 kV lines. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the 220 kV Vung Ang substation will officially be energized and put into operation as an unmanned substation, playing a key role in providing stable electricity to the Vung Ang Economic Zone. The increased volume of power grid management means that the tasks performed by the engineers of Ha Tinh Power Transmission Company are also heavier ."

To ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid, Ha Tinh Power Transmission Company has conducted a comprehensive inspection and rectified defects on power lines and substations; developed and implemented a plan to ensure electricity supply during the Tet holiday that is closely aligned with reality. At the same time, the unit has deployed personnel on duty 24/7, prepared sufficient spare parts, intensified inspections to promptly address any abnormalities on the grid, and closely coordinated with local authorities in protecting the safety corridor of the power grid.

Amidst the joyful family reunions during Tet (Lunar New Year), at the Ha Tinh 500 kV Substation, shifts continue silently. Without fireworks or a moment of rest, the power transmission engineers remain steadfastly at the substation and along the transmission lines. It is this dedication, discipline, and responsibility that keeps the national power grid running smoothly, allowing the light of spring to spread throughout the country.
Mr. Dinh Van Thai, Deputy Head of Ha Tinh Power Transmission Company, shared solutions to ensure the operation of the power grid during Tet.
