The festival of ethnic groups in the Northeast region will take place from November 2nd to 4th.

(CLO) The festival, held from November 2nd to 4th in Lang Son, included performances of traditional cultural activities, promotion of local specialties, and introduction of culinary culture.

The 11th Northeast Region Ethnic Groups' Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival this year has the theme "Northeast Region Culture - Identity, Integration and Reaching Further".

This is a large-scale political and cultural event organized by the People's Committee of Lang Son province in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the participation of 8 provinces: Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen and Lang Son province.

The event will be held over three days, from November 2nd to November 4th, 2024, coinciding with the 193rd anniversary of the founding of Lang Son province (November 4th, 1831 - November 4th, 2024) and the 115th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Hoang Van Thu (November 4th, 1909 - November 4th, 2024).

The opening ceremony of the festival will take place at 8 PM on November 2nd at the main stage in Hung Vuong Street Square, Chi Lang Ward, Lang Son City.

From November 1st to November 4th, a joint opening ceremony for cultural, sports, and tourism activities will be held in Lang Son City at the auxiliary stage of Chi Lang Park, Hung Vuong Street, Chi Lang Ward, Lang Son City.

Cultural activities include: Performances and presentations of excerpts from festivals and traditional ethnic cultural rituals. Exhibition spaces showcasing and promoting local traditional cultural products.

Exhibitions, preparation, and introductions to traditional culinary culture. Folk art festival and performances of traditional costumes of ethnic groups in the Northeast region.

Sports activities include: Competitions in Tug-of-War, Stick Push, Ball Throwing, and Stilt Walking.

Tourism activities include: a tour guide skills demonstration competition; and a scientific seminar on the theme: "Cultural tourism in the Northeast region - origins and development" between 8 provinces in the Northeast and Ho Chi Minh City.

The Northeast Ethnic Groups' Culture, Sports, and Tourism Festival is a large-scale annual event that aims to honor the fine traditional cultural values ​​of the ethnic groups in the Northeast region within the unified and diverse culture of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups.
