Sports and Tourism Festival

(NADS) - On the morning of July 28, 2024, at Ho Chi Minh Square, Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province, the Quang Binh International Marathon 2024 officially opened in a vibrant and exciting atmosphere. The race was organized by the Quang Binh Provincial Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with Bolt Event Joint Stock Company.

The race will officially start at Ho Chi Minh Square in Dong Hoi City.

The Quang Binh International Marathon 2024 is not only a sporting event but also an opportunity to promote Quang Binh tourism , expand cooperation, and boost tourism domestically and internationally. The event attracted nearly 3,000 athletes, including many professional athletes and national team members, along with 11 international athletes from countries such as the UK, USA, Australia, Japan, Thailand, and South Korea.

Athletes competed in four distances: 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km. The race route passed through many beautiful and important streets of Dong Hoi city such as Nhat Le 2 Bridge, Quang Trung, Nguyen Trai, Quach Xuan Ky, Nhat Le 1 Bridge, Tran Hung Dao, Vo Nguyen Giap, Dien Bien Phu, and the Nhat Le embankment, providing unforgettable experiences for athletes and spectators.

The event started early in the morning, when the air was still fresh and cool. Athletes arrived very early, ready for the challenges ahead. The race not only attracted professional athletes but also many local people, from children to the elderly, creating a true sporting festival.

Notably, international athletes brought unique colors to the race. John Smith, an athlete from England, shared: “This is my first time in Quang Binh and I am truly impressed with the beauty of the place. The race course is beautiful and the organization is very professional. I am very happy to have participated in this event.”

The tournament concluded at Ho Chi Minh Square in Dong Hoi City.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, a local athlete, also expressed: “This race is truly meaningful for the people of Quang Binh. It's not only an opportunity for us to improve our health but also to show our love and pride for our homeland.”

The Chairman of Bolt Event Joint Stock Company, the co-organizer of the race, shared: “We are very happy and proud to be co-organizing a major sporting event like the Quang Binh International Marathon 2024. This is not only a playground for athletes but also an opportunity for us to promote the beauty and tourism potential of Quang Binh. We are committed to continuing to support and develop similar events, contributing to the sustainable development of our homeland.”

The Quang Binh International Marathon 2024 attracted significant interest from tourists and investors. According to preliminary statistics, the number of tourists visiting Quang Binh during this period increased considerably, generating substantial revenue for the locality. Hotels, restaurants, and other tourism services operated at full capacity, demonstrating the positive impact of combining sports and tourism.

The Quang Binh International Marathon 2024 was a resounding success, not only in terms of organization but also in its significance and impact on the local community and tourism.
