Sports and Tourism Festival

(NADS) - On the morning of July 28, 2024, at Ho Chi Minh Square, Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province, the Quang Binh International Marathon 2024 officially opened in a bustling and exciting atmosphere. The tournament was organized by the Department of Culture - Sports of Quang Binh Province in coordination with Bolt Event Joint Stock Company.

The Quang Binh International Marathon 2024 is not only a sporting event but also an opportunity to promote Quang Binh tourism , expand cooperation and promote domestic and international tourism. The event attracts nearly 3,000 athletes, including many professional athletes and members of the national team, along with 11 international athletes from countries such as the UK, US, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Korea, etc.

Athletes compete in 4 distances: 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and 42 km. The race passes through many beautiful and important roads of Dong Hoi city such as Nhat Le 2 bridge, Quang Trung, Nguyen Trai, Quach Xuan Ky, Nhat Le 1 bridge, Tran Hung Dao, Vo Nguyen Giap, Dien Bien Phu, and Nhat Le embankment, bringing unforgettable experiences to athletes and spectators.

The event started early in the morning, when the air was still fresh and cool. Athletes were present very early, ready for the challenges ahead. The race not only had the participation of professional athletes but also attracted many local people, from children to the elderly, to join in, creating a true sports festival.

Notably, international athletes brought special colors to the race. John Smith, an athlete from the UK, shared: “This is my first time coming to Quang Binh and I am really impressed with the beauty of this place. The course is very beautiful and the organization is very professional. I am very happy to participate in this event.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, a local athlete, also expressed: “This race is really meaningful for the people of Quang Binh. It is not only an opportunity for us to exercise but also to express our love and pride for our homeland.”

The Chairman of Bolt Events Joint Stock Company, the co-organizer of the race, shared: “We are very happy and proud to be able to coordinate in organizing a major sporting event like Quang Binh International Marathon 2024. This is not only a playground for athletes but also an opportunity for us to promote the beauty and tourism potential of Quang Binh. The Quang Binh International Marathon 2024 has attracted great attention from tourists and investors. According to preliminary statistics, the number of tourists coming to Quang Binh during this time has increased significantly, bringing a significant source of revenue to the locality. Hotels, restaurants and other tourism services are operating at full capacity, showing the positive effect of combining sports and tourism.
