Nghe An: '4 on-site' forces join forces to take an old woman in a flooded area across the river to the emergency room

On the afternoon of October 3, the "4 on-site" forces of Yen Hoa commune (Nghe An) used bamboo, meters, and trees to form a raft to take an old woman with appendicitis across the river to the emergency room.

Mr. Lo Thanh Binh - Vice Chairman of Yen Hoa Commune People's Committee said that at around 2:30 p.m. on October 3, after receiving a report from the family and the village management board about the case of Ms. Lo Thi Duong, 75 years old, in Xop Coc village suffering from appendicitis, the local Party Committee and government sent the Commune Police and Military forces to urgently support her in getting through the flood to the hospital in time.

It is known that the concrete bridge connecting the center of Yen Hoa commune was swept away by flood after storm No. 10. In that situation, to quickly help the old woman cross the river, the forces used bamboo, meters and available materials to form a raft, then used a rope combined with swimmers to escort her across the river.

Yen Hoa commune promptly sent functional forces to help old lady Lo Thi Duong safely cross National Highway 48C and prepare an ambulance to take her to the hospital.

Xop Coc bridge across the river connecting Yen Hoa commune center with 3 villages: Xop Coc village, Vang Lin village and Tat village was washed away, so these 3 villages with more than 300 households are temporarily isolated.
