The small sugarcane juice shop of florist Ha Minh Khoi (Khoi Ha, 34 years old) opened last September, at 41 Hang Dau, Hanoi . Selling sugarcane juice has been his family's traditional occupation in Ba Ria - Vung Tau for the past 45 years.
"The taste of sugarcane juice from my childhood was not only delicious in a very special way, but thanks to that, my parents were able to raise 10 children to study. After working in Hanoi for a while, I couldn't find a place with a similar taste of sugarcane juice, so I decided to open a store," the young man said.
With the traditional way of squeezing sugarcane juice, plus creating special recipes to make his juice more delicious, Khoi said he sells a small cup to customers for 25,000 VND, a large cup for 45,000 VND. In the summer, Khoi can sell 150 - 200 cups of sugarcane juice per day, and more on holidays and weekends, bringing in an unexpected source of income, adding tens of millions of VND per month.
As a famous flower arranger, Khoi does not hesitate to squeeze sugarcane juice himself to serve customers.

From a popular drink that can be found on any street across the country, Khoi improved the recipe, combining it with the flavors of other fruits. Especially the sugarcane juice has aloe vera jelly topping made by himself.
Selling sugarcane juice right at the flower shop, customers have the opportunity to admire his works of art.
Khoi is a flower arranger who is in the top 30 outstanding people under 30 years old voted by Forbes in 2020.

Khoi Ha's most memorable memory of selling sugarcane juice was when Typhoon Yagi hit Hanoi in September 2024. His shop was located right in the Hoan Kiem Lake area, where there were many ancient trees that were engraved in the memories of Hanoians and tourists . As a flower arranger and a lover of plants, Khoi was heartbroken when he saw a series of fallen trees on the road. Therefore, at that time, he and two friends pooled money to buy sugarcane juice, giving hundreds of cups to the workers and volunteers who cleaned up the fallen trees.
"Many foreign tourists have come here many times to drink sugarcane juice during their time in Hanoi. I hope to introduce this popular, typical Vietnamese drink to international friends," the young man said.

Khoi became a florist in his twenties. He was listed among the most outstanding people under 30 by Forbes in 2020 at the age of 29. Previously, in 2016, Minh Khoi was the first Vietnamese to become a member of the American Society of Floral Designers (AIFD) and had his work featured on the cover of Narce flower magazine (France). After winning the Vietnam International Floral Expo in 2018, Khoi opened the Khoi Ha Flower Boutique. Starting a business in Hanoi, the sugarcane juice cart helped him rediscover the flavors of his childhood and ease his homesickness.
