He was born in 1960 and is an artist associated with the Western opera troupes. Not long ago, he participated in the famous opera "Hon Vong Phu" by author Luu Quang Vu, adapted from the opera Moc Linh directed by Chi Linh at Tran Huu Trang Theater. This was the first time artist Duy Son performed on the same stage with his son, so he was very excited and emotional that day.

Having been away from the stage for nearly 20 years, he has just returned to the stage when his son started making a music video with the song "Love is beautiful in the season of rambutan" sung by him and Meritorious Artist Phuong Hong Thuy. Artist Vo Minh Lam had expressed his intention to make many traditional songs and music videos for his father, but then he passed away suddenly, leaving behind much grief for his family and colleagues.

Artist Duy Son is the father and teacher who passed on his profession to Artist Vo Minh Lam.

Coming from a family of artists, the awareness of preserving the singing profession has given artist Vo Minh Lam a lot of motivation to strive continuously. "My father was my first teacher, teaching me how to sing and act. He always encouraged me, taught me valuable lessons in the profession and especially always maintained the spirit of respecting teachers" - Artist Vo Minh Lam said about his father with regret.

He said that tonight in the program "Vang trang co nhac" organized by HTV, he will still participate in performing a duet of traditional songs with Meritorious Artist Ngoc Doi for the audience, then return to Can Tho to attend his father's funeral. "I don't want my personal matters to affect everyone. I want to perform and sing for my father" - Artist Vo Minh Lam shared.
