Ms. Phi Dieu has been hospitalized for three days now. Artist Hong Quan said that this afternoon the doctor informed the family that they have identified her illness, and her health is currently stable.
Ms. Phi Dieu was hospitalized for a while.
Mr. Quan said that three days ago his mother felt unwell and had a chill, so the family rushed her to the hospital for emergency treatment.
After receiving intravenous fluids, she regained consciousness. However, the fatigue and chills returned. After a thorough examination, the doctor correctly diagnosed the illness.
"Blood infection sounds a bit scary, but the doctor said it's nothing to worry about. My mother will be hospitalized for a few more days and then she can be discharged," Mr. Quan informed.
Actress Phi Dieu is 93 years old this year. She is a familiar face in Vietnamese cinema and is considered the "national mother and grandmother" on screen.
Ms. Phi Dieu was involved in revolutionary activities from a young age, having relocated to the North and worked with the renowned Southern Cai Luong (traditional Vietnamese opera) troupe, before later working at the Voice of Vietnam radio station .
In 1975, she returned to the South and was one of the pioneers in establishing the Ho Chi Minh City People's Voice Radio Station. Her voice as a "late-night storyteller" has become a cherished memory for many.
After retiring, she remained active in local communities and participated in many films. Even in her 90s, she still drove her motorbike to filming locations.
Ms. Phi Dieu leads a very optimistic lifestyle. She dedicates time each day to exercise and maintains a balanced diet. She enjoys going out to work to keep her spirits high, engage in physical labor to stay healthy, and prevent her mind from becoming sluggish.
