Artist Tan Hoang said that on the morning of May 16th, he suffered a heart attack and stroke, and was fortunate to be taken to Military Hospital 110 (Bac Ninh) for timely emergency treatment. After being transferred to a hospital in Hanoi , the artist underwent examinations and was diagnosed with a leaky heart valve. Therefore, Tan Hoang had to have a stent implanted.
“ I’m speaking very softly now because I just had a stent implanted. I’m still in the recovery room for continued monitoring. If there are no problems, by the morning of May 17th, I’ll be transferred to a rest room to recuperate and stay there for a few days. Everyone can rest assured, my health is fine. I’m very happy that I still have the opportunity to sing, act in films, and serve the audience,” the artist shared.
Tấn Hoàng once confided to Zing that , in his twilight years, he remains passionate about acting and is busy with comedy sketches for television stations, stage performances, and shows in many provinces. He is the main breadwinner for his family of 11, including his wife, their two children and their spouses, and six grandchildren.

"Having been involved in this profession for over 40 years, experiencing many ups and downs, I still love it and have never wanted to give it up. At this age, I confidently assert that I love my profession more than money. I'm happy to perform for anyone who invites me and have never asked about the fee. I accept whatever people offer ," Tấn Hoàng shared.
Born in 1963 into a wealthy family in Ho Chi Minh City, artist Tan Hoang abandoned his privileged life and, at the young age of 17, secretly joined a Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) troupe. He was one of the famous comedians of the 1990s, known for his program "Trong Nha Ngoai Pho" (Inside and Outside the House). Besides his roles as a director and actor, Tan Hoang also made his mark by participating in bolero (Vietnamese traditional opera) programs.
